December 29th - January 4th

Rachel continues to be adorable and headstrong. She switches between her high chair, and just sitting in a chair at the table. She will only eat in the one she wants to. She loves all of her new toys, and makes a huge mess with her dishes and food. We think she has another tooth coming in as she has had a few difficult days, but is mostly happy and cheerful. She has taken 3 three hour naps this week which is so awesome.

Monday 29th - John and I went to see Unbroken in the morning while my mom watched Rachel. It was a good movie, but very hard to watch. John and I both agreed that we probably wouldn't watch it again, though we were glad we watched it. After the movie, we went back to my parents, packed up, and drove home. We were able to make it most of the way in good weather, but hit some snow just past Nephi and again before Provo. We saw some warnings about an accident, so we got off and grabbed a quick bite to eat. Unfortunately, the accident was bad enough that traffic was still backed up. Fortunately, we were able to get off I-15 and drive over to Mountain View to get home. The roads there were a bit fun, but there were few enough people that it wasn't too stressful. Once we got home, John unloaded all of Rachel's toys, and we all crashed.

Tuesday 30th - In the morning I unpacked my stuff. We went shopping to get some food as everything we had before we left had gone bad. We spent most of the day relaxing and getting the house organized with all of Rachel's new toys. That night we went to John's parents for dinner. It was yummy.

Wednesday 31st - John tried to go running, but his shins and ankles were hurting too much, so he didn't make it very far. Jeremy came by so that he could ride with John as they went to lunch with his other brothers and a Brother-in-Law. Before John left for lunch, we went and met Corrie and her husband Steven to chat for a bit. After Rachel took a nap I took her over to Terry and Gloria's house for some dinner and games. We gave Rachel a bath there and changed her into pajamas so that if/when she fell asleep on the way home I could put her straight into bed.  When I got home with her (John stayed to play games) I was just excited that the fire alarm wasn't going off anymore.

Thursday January 1st - Thursday morning John went for a 6 mile run.  I met my friend Shelbe and her husband for lunch. We had such a fun time talking and catching up.  While I was at lunch Rachel totally lost everything in her stomach and I ended up going into Shopko to grab something for Rachel to wear.  John went to his brothers to play games with all the guys while I was at lunch.  After Rachel and I got home she went down for a nap.

Friday 2nd - In the morning we worked on cleaning up the apartment.  Jeremy came over with Maddy on his way to the airport.  John took both of them over to his parents house so they could take Jeremy the rest of the way. After John got back to went to In-n-Out for dinner and then ran some errands. When we got home our friends Joe and Becca came over for games.

Saturday 3rd - We spent most of the morning at home, John went for a 8 mile run.  We did a little grocery shopping with a quick stop into Payless so that I could get some white tennis shoes. After we got home Rachel and I took naps. After dinner our friends Becca and Joe came back over for some 7 Wonders.  I got 4th place 3 times and 3rd place 1 time, John got 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.

Sunday 4th - Our church time changed to 1:00 (YUCK!!!!!!) so we spent a very leisurely morning getting ready.  I even got to paint my toenails and Rachel took a short nap.  John got to play on his computer for a little bit which was nice for him. At church Rachel kept grabbing John's hand and trying to drag him out of the pew.  John took Rachel to nursery after Sacrament meeting and I went to meet my new primary class.  John only had to stay with Rachel for about 5 minutes and then he was able to leave.  They brought her to me once to change her diaper and then she went right back with the leader.  At the end of church when I went to pick up Rachel she didn't want to come to me, she wanted to stay with the nursery leader and kept swatting me away when I tried to take her. After we got home it was dinner time which John so kindly made. We spent a very nice evening relaxing together.
