July 6th - July 12th

Rachel continues to express her individuality and strong will. She wants to be like us in every way possible, and tries to help out when she can. Often this is cute, but not at all helpful.  She has wanted to sit on the grown-up potty a few times which gives us hope for potty training.

David is starting to get big. He is growing so fast. He is awake a lot more now and gets a bit frustrated because he can't do much. Tummy time may become one of his favorite things.

Monday 6th - My mom and I traveled back to St. George from Prescott, which took most of the day. After we got back, John and I FaceTimed for a little bit so that Rachel and John could see each other.

Tuesday 7th - My dad and Gibson left for AP camp at 5:00 in the morning. Later on in the morning we went to JC Pennies so I could look for some new shorts.  I didn't find any I liked on but my mom found a lot that she liked and got lots of her school shopping done.  We spent the rest of the day working at the house.

Wednesday 8th - I worked around the house with my mom and we had fun going to Swig and spending time together.

Thursday 9th - We spent the morning getting stuff done around the house and letting Rachel play.  In the afternoon we got to go to Target and my mom found a shelf she liked. While we were there I kept getting mad at Rachel because I thought she was taking her shoe off over and over.  My mom went to help her put her shoes back on at one point and realized that the strap had broken so while we were there I got Rachel some new shoes.

Friday 10th - My mom and I went to the store in the morning with David and Rachel.  I was still looking for some pants to fit so we went to Kohl's but their prices were ridiculous. We stopped at Costco on the way home for some samples and I ended up finding one pair of shorts and 3 disney movies. In the afternoon, my mom and I drove up to Beaver in separate cars so that we could give John the Kia, so that he could drive down after his half marathon on Saturday. We met up in Beaver, chatted for a little bit, and then everyone headed on their way. Rachel was not thrilled to be back in the car and David was awake for some of the trip back and he was not happy. We got home pretty late, and got everyone to bed.

Saturday 11th - Happy 7-11! John ran his half marathon in the morning at Bryce Canyon, and set a new PR at 2:09. He was rather happy with the result, but said it was one of his harder runs. He hopes that Timp goes better and that he can improve his time again. My mom and I hung out in the morning and I got my hair done. We went over to Wood Creations to get some crafts I want to do for David's room. John just barely beat us home. After we got back, my parents headed to the temple, and John and I hung out waiting for them to get back. John got to play with David and Rachel, and I got a nice nap. We started making dinner, and then my mom called and told us to wait until the next day. John fell asleep for a little bit on the couch after they returned and everyone was watching tv and eating dinner. Eventually we gave both kids a bath, and everyone went to bed.

Sunday 12th - The big day, and the reason we were in St. George for the weekend. We all got up and had a very nice breakfast, and then headed to church. At church, my dad was put in as the new Bishop as their old Bishop had been called into the Stake Presidency. My mom bore her testimony, and my dad spoke. It was a very good meeting. Rachel got upset when she couldn't go up to sit next to Pops or be with Noni while she was up there, but mostly did well. After Sacrament, we all went over to the Stake Center so the new bishopric could be set apart. After that, we said goodbye to my dad as he now needed to go back to church, and headed back to my parents to make dinner and get everything ready to head home. My mom came back after church to grab some food and say goodbye, and then she had to go to the stake center with my dad for some training. We finally got on the road and had a pretty good trip. We stopped in Scipio, where the bishop was still at the church so I was able to feed David in the Mother's Lounge there. It was late by the time we got home, and Rachel was up way too late, but with a late nap in the car, we figured it would probably be that way.
