December 7th - December 13th

Rachel is getting a lot more vocal, and is starting to string together longer sentences. Yet, at the same time, she likes to respond with "Yep!" or "Nope!"  a lot. She likes to say "I love you" more as well.

David is starting to get  more mobile. He has a little bit better control with his arms, and can actually reach and grab things he wants with some amount of accuracy. He is also more content while not being held as he can see around him and hold onto his toys better.

Monday 7th - I went to Walmart in the morning and picked up stuff to make dinner. I picked up lunch and took it to my mom's work.  Rachel had a blast playing in Noni's classroom, she barely touched her lunch. After lunch I took them back to my parents for naps.  That evening my mom helped me pull out fabric and got a couple pairs of pajama pants cut out.
John - I spent my day at my conference. There were two sessions with a lunch in between. After the last session, I went and grabbed some dinner and ate in my room.

Tuesday 8th - In the morning I went to Kid-to-Kid with the kids and then went to pick up lunch.  I dropped it off with my dad and then took my mom and a couple other teachers theirs.
John - I again spent my day in different sessions. The second was a little less interesting than the others had been, so I was happy when it finished. I went to P.F. Changs for dinner, and grabbed some yogurt for dessert.

Wednesday 9th - I met a high school friend for breakfast which was really fun.  The last time I saw her I was still pregnant with David so we had a lot to catch up on. I went back to the house for a little bit and then picked up lunch one last time for my mom. That evening after she got home we took some christmas pictures of David. After we finished I worked on packing up suitcases and getting everything ready to go in the morning.
John - After the sessions finished, I went and grabbed a shuttle out to the airport in Atlantic City to pick up a rental car I could use the following morning to get to the airport in Philadelphia in time for my flight. I then drove back to the hotel and grabbed some dinner, before heading to bed early so I could wake up early.

Thursday 10th - Today was a day of traveling. The kids and I got up and started getting ready early in the morning. I packed up the van with help from my mom before she left for work, we made a quick stop, and we began our journey home. David was a little whiny, but did pretty well on the way home. We went straight to the airport, where we picked John up from his return flight. His flight was a bit late as they had 120 mph headwinds on the second leg from Atlanta. Once he got out to the car, we went to pick up his car which he had parked at a Trax Station in case I didn't make it back in time. We then headed home and began unpacking and getting settled back into life. It was nice to be able to relax and to be home. We ate dinner, got the kids in bed, and headed to bed ourselves.

Friday 11th - John got up early and headed back to work, which he kept saying was really weird. The kids and I got to spend a good amount of time at home relaxing after traveling, and just enjoying being at home. John helped Kevin study for his final after work, and then came home. We ate dinner, watched the finale of the Amazing Race, and headed to bed.

Saturday 12th - John got up early and went for a run with his family. After he got back, we all got ready and we went out and did our shopping for the week. After we got home, we started putting up Christmas decorations after we got the kids down for naps. Unfortunately in the evening I realized that my Fitbit had fallen off sometime during the day, so John tried to go out and find it. Unfortunately he didn't have any luck. We have some options to try this week to hopefully find it, but I was very sad. We got the kids in bed, and headed to bed ourselves.

Sunday 13th - David and Rachel woke up a little earlier than we would have liked, but it was probably good. John had a training of sorts in the morning for his new calling at 10, and then I went visiting teaching at 11. Luckily John was able to make it home right before I had to leave. After I got back, we quickly ate some lunch and headed to church. Rachel was pretty good during Sacrament meeting, and was very excited to be able to go to nursery. David fell asleep at the beginning of Sunday School, and we were able to lay him down and he slept for most of Sunday School. During Relief Society, David decided that we were being too quiet, and decided to fill his pants very loudly. Everyone around me looked to see what had happened. It was rather embarrassing, but a little funny at the same time. After church, we came home and finished up dinner. Our landlady joined us for dinner and brought a salad. It was a nice evening. Rachel didn't get a nap during the day, and was getting rather cranky near the end of dinner. I picked her up, and she laid her head on my shoulder and fell asleep. John went and gave her a shower, and she woke up for a bit. We got David to bed, and then got Rachel in bed, and headed to bed ourselves.

November 24th - November 29th

Rachel is such a good sister most of the time. When David cries, she sings to him to make him happy, and loves to give him kisses.

David has been eating a ton. We expect either some serious growth or lots of teeth very soon.

Monday 23rd - In the morning I go ready early and ran a few errands. I first met up with a guy from Draper that was selling his never-opened Fitbit Flex. John and I had decided to get each other Fitbit's for Christmas (though we decided also to make them early Christmas presents) and we found a couple on KSL, each for over half off. After I got the Fitbit, I stopped by Walmart to get a couple of items and headed home. David ate almost twice as much as he normally does. John met up with a guy and got himself a Fitbit, and then was able to come home. Rachel was still asleep when John got home (a 3 and a half hour nap), but after she got up John played with the kids for a bit while I finished dinner. We ate, and eventually were able to get the kids back to bed. We watched Blindspot, and headed to bed ourselves.

Tuesday 24th - Today was spent getting everything ready for our trip. John went to work and worked hard enough that he could take Wednesday off so that we could leave early on Wednesday. I ran a couple of errands during the day, and we worked on packing once I got home. We were able to get most things ready, and then we went to bed.

Wednesday 25th - We got up and got ready to go. It took a little while longer than we originally intended because David did not want to eat. Our landlady watched Rachel for a little while for us while we finished getting ready. We stopped by Costco for gas, Holiday for a drink, and we were on our way. The weather and kids were pretty good until just before Beaver. David woke up and decided he was finished and screamed until we stopped. Rachel wasn't too happy either, so she was whining.  We were happy to get out of the car in Beaver. We stopped at McDonalds so that I could feed David and Rachel could play in the Playplace. John held David while I went over to Subway to grab the two of us lunch, which took forever because there were so many people. Unfortunately the storm reached Beaver before we left, so the drive between Beaver and Cedar was a bit hairy. We encountered a truck at one point that tailgated us, tailgated the car next to us, flipped us off, and tailgated us some more. John got out of the way, but we got the information and contacted the company later to let them know what he was doing. Right after Cedar, the weather cleared up and the kids both fell asleep. It made the last part of the trip much more enjoyable. We eventually made it to my parents and relaxed for the evening and went to bed.

Thursday 26th - Happy Thanksgiving! John and my mom got up early and went for a six mile run. I got up not too long after they left because both kids woke up. My parents had Rachel in their room, but brought her up to me when she woke up and they were getting ready to leave. We hung out at home until everyone got back. We then spent the rest of the morning getting ready for dinner. I made my layered jello. Dinner was very yummy and a lot of fun. After dinner, we all lounged around while we tried to digest all of the food we had eaten. Rachel got very cranky late in the afternoon, so we put her down for a nap. My mom and I spent some time getting ready for Black Friday shopping. We eventually got the kids to bed after a bit of time.

Friday 27th - My mom and I got up and went Black Friday Shopping. We got back really early and tried to get what sleep we could. After everybody woke up, we tried to go take family pictures. Everything was looking great, but then Rachel got too excited by the water and tripped and scraped her nose. She was distraught from then on, so we weren't able to get any pictures with her. We stopped by Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch on the way home, and my mom and I got some stuff from Bath and Body Works while we were at the mall. We made it home and got the kids down for naps. John made me go and take a nap as well, which was really nice. We relaxed in the evening and watched Star Wars with my family before bed.

Saturday 28th - John and my mom got up and went for another 6 mile run. After they got back, we got ready and went over to tennis, which was a lot of fun. My grandma left after we got back, so we spent a few minutes helping her get ready to go. We also had to go meet her to give her some stuff that she left. After that, my mom and I went by Joann's to check some of their sales. After we got back, we watched the USU vs BYU game and took some family pictures. In the end, my dad was happy but John was not. After the game ended, John and I were able to go out on a date (second one since David was born). We went to eat at Outback Steakhouse. It was really yummy. We stopped by Walmart on our way home to get some windshield wipers, and then got the kids to bed and went to bed ourselves.

Sunday 29th - We woke up early and got ready so we could go to a baby blessing in Ivans for our good friends Corrie and Steven. After that sacrament meeting, we headed back to my parents. We were going to go to their sacrament meeting as well, but my mom wasn't feeling well, so we just stayed with her and packed up the car. We stopped by the church to say goodbye to my dad and Gibson, and then got on the road. The trip home was a bit of a nightmare. David woke up before Beaver, but fell asleep again so we made it to Fillmore before having to stop. He didn't really fall asleep again after that, so we got to listen to him scream for about half of the trip. We also saw 3 accidents, and managed to skirt around one by driving through Nephi rather than staying on the freeway. The weather wasn't too bad, but a couple of places were fun. Needless to say, by the time we got home, we were very happy to be home. John unloaded the car, we got the kids in bed, and then we relaxed for the evening. John started not feeling well, and spent a bit of time shivering, so we got ready for bed and he curled up under a ton of blankets with a heat bag to get warm.

November 16th - November 22nd

Rachel loves to sing and dance around the house. She is so excited when John gets home and just wants him to play with her. She still loves playing with her babies and tries to take as many as she can whenever we go somewhere.

David is working on rolling and is trying to be more mobile. One of his favorite things is when Rachel talks or sings to him. He could sit and watch her all day. He still has a hard time taking consistent naps which is taking a toll on both of us.  John and I are trying to teach David to sit up on his own but we are having issues because he always straightens his legs to stand.

Monday 16th - The kids and I made an early trip to Joann's in the morning because someone contacted me on Etsy and wanted me to make a customer car seat cover! As I was looking for fabric and sending her pictures, she told me her mom wanted one too, so I was able to make two car seat covers! I spent what time I could in the afternoon sewing, which was so much fun because they each wanted minky on their covers, which is a pain to sew. Rachel was really sweet and sang to David to try to keep him happy. John made a trip to Bountiful after work to buy Rachel's Christmas present. After he made it home and we ate dinner, we went over to John's parents to see his dad for Family Home Evening. It was also Grace's birthday, so we lucked out and got dessert too. Rachel eventually had a bit of a melt down, so we headed home and got the kids to bed. John and I watch Blindspot and then headed to bed.

Tuesday 17th - I spent most of the day sewing, and was able to get both car seat covers finished! John was able to come right home after work, and we enjoyed an evening at home. We worked on dinner, ate dinner, and then got the kids to bed. David was so tired by the time we laid him down as he had barely slept during the day, and Rachel also said she was tired even though we got them both to bed around 8. We watched Supergirl and then got ready for bed.  I fell asleep and John spent a little bit playing on his computer.

Wednesday 18th - The kids and I made a trip to the post office so I could mail the two car seat covers. My first sale on Esty is complete! David took a great nap in the afternoon, so I was able to finish up another car seat cover that I will post on Etsy. John had tutor after work, so he didn't get home until about 6:45. He then had a Skype tutoring session at 7, so we didn't get to see him much during the evening. I got the kids in bed, and then John finished up. We watched survivor and headed to bed.

Thursday 19th - John got up early and went for a 6 mile run. The kids and I spent the day at home. I worked on a nursing cover to go with the last car seat cover that I made. We almost went to a Trampoline Park, but of course Rachel decided she wanted to take a long nap. John was able to come home right after work, so we enjoyed a bit of time together before he tutored at 8:30. After he finished, we got ready for and headed to bed.

Friday 20th - The kids and I made a trip over to Joann's during the day to get some more fabric for another car seat cover. We also made a stop at Kid-to-Kid to check for some clothes for the kids (they just keep growing!). John was able to come home right after work and help out with dinner. Our friends Becca and Joe joined us for dinner and games. It was a lot of fun. Becca enjoyed holding David for a while, and Joe played with Rachel while John was getting David ready for bed. Rachel was very sad when she had to go to bed. Eventually we played two games of 7 Wonders. John won the first, and Joe killed us on the second.

Saturday 21st - John got up early and went and ran an unofficial half marathon. He was running with Trevor and they were going to meet Ben and Chelsi half way up Mountain View Corridor so they would get 11 miles. Turns out that the path on Mountain View is a lot longer, so they got a couple of extra miles, which John didn't mind. After they finished their run, they starting loading the moving truck at Brandon and Stacie's because they get to move to their new house! The kids and I went grocery shopping while John was helping them move. John got home after Rachel was down for her nap, so he was able to get some lunch and shower. David went down for a very short nap, so John started watching the Aggie game, and then held David and kept watching it. The Aggies came back from being behind and won the game! John was very happy. My back had been hurting quite a bit, so John found a massage place that had a short appointment to help me with that. He is the best to surprise we with that. We worked on getting the kids to bed, and I went over to that. It was so nice. David didn't want to stay asleep, so he was awake again when I got home. Eventually we got him back in bed, and went to bed ourselves.

Sunday 22nd - The kids slept in a little bit which meant I got to as well. John woke up early for no apparent reason but got to spend time playing on his computer.  Rachel was a little cranky and very clingy so we checked her temperature and it was a little over 100 so we decided she shouldn't go to church.  I stayed home with her and David while John went to church.  Rachel was asleep for most of the time John was gone but David would not sleep and was very cranky, screaming every time I set him down. After John got home from church we finished making the soup for family dinner and then John left and took David with him while I stayed home with Rachel. We ate dinner and got to FaceTime with my family which was fun. After we got the kids to bed John and I watched CSI: Cyber and headed to bed ourselves.

November 9th - November 15th

Rachel can be very helpful, or very ornery a lot of the time. She copies a lot of what we say. One day when David was sad Rachel gave him her baby doll to make him happy which is a huge deal because she doesn't even let John or me play with the doll.  She loves reading books with us and singing us songs.

David is getting so big. He has started eating a lot more recently, so we fear he is about to double in size. He loves to jump, which means our arms are often very tired. He has a jumper but he doesn't think it is nearly as good as our laps.

Monday 9th - The kids and I went for a drive over to Joann's in the morning. The Relief Society President in our ward wants me to make two car-seat covers for her daughter! While we were there, I picked up a little more fabric to finish some covers that I started before we moved. The kids and I spent the afternoon at home. During the kids short naps I worked on cutting out the fabric. John stopped by the orthodontist on his way home so they could make sure the retainer was working correctly, and then he joined us at home. We ate dinner, watched CSI Cyber, and then worked on getting the kids to bed. At one point, John was holding David, and David was so tired he was nodding off, even though John was holding him facing out. It was really cute but kind of sad. We got the kids in bed and watched Blindspot, and then went to bed ourselves.

Tuesday 10th - David decided early on in the day that he needed to be held all day. So, I didn't get much done. I was able to go out and run a couple of errands and take Rachel to the doctor for her 2 and half year checkup. She did such a good job letting the doctor check her. I also found a bigger table (with two leafs that hide in the table, just like my parents') and 6 chairs listed on KSL for $175. We offered $150 and they were happy to get rid of it. Unfortunately it was too heavy for me to bring home, so John had to do it in the evening. John tutored via Skype as soon as he got home, and then took the van to get the table. We had to have someone help him unload it, so he called the EQ president, who stopped by on his way home (and extended a calling to John while he was there). We then got the kids to bed, and John recorded a walk-through for one of his other student's while I worked on the car seat covers for our Relief Society President. After he finished, we were going to go to bed, but our landlady texted John and asked for some help on a homework assignment. John thought they might as well work on it then, so they worked on that for a while and I finished up the first car seat cover. After they finished, we went to bed.

Wednesday 11th - Chelsi was so nice to come over in the morning and bring me back from the car dealership. We needed to take it in so they could fix where the previous owner had scraped the front bumper against something. So, I was stuck at home for most of the day. In the evening after they finished with the van, my visiting teaching companion was so nice to come and take me back over to pick up the van. After I picked it up, the kids and I went to Joann's to get some fabric for another car seat cover I was asked to make. (Yahoo!). John had to stay late at work for a meeting, and then had tutoring after that, so he got home late. After he got home, we ate dinner and got the kids to bed. Then we watched Survivor and I worked on one of the car seat covers for a little bit before we headed to bed.

Thursday 12th - I spent as much of today sewing as I could. David did well enough at times that I was able to finish an entire car seat cover today. I hope to give it to the guy who ordered soon because his daughter has already been born. John was able to come home straight from work, and he watched the kids while I went visiting teaching. After I got back, I finished dinner and we ate and watched The Big Bang Theory. We got the kids in bed and headed to bed ourselves.

Friday 13th - Today was a sad day for the world. Our hearts and prayers go out to those in the world that were attacked. After John got home, he made dinner and then he left to go watch Specter with Tiffani, Don, and Tyler. He said it was a blast. I was able to get the kids to bed and then worked on sewing a little bit. After John got home, I finished up a little bit of sewing and we went to bed.

Saturday 14th - John got up early and went for a run with his family. After he got back, he got ready and we went out on our shopping trip. We first went to the car dealership so I could drop off the cover I made for the salesman there. We then went to Costco and Walmart, and headed home. We were able to get Rachel down for her nap a little late, and she slept for a long time. I finished up that last of the covers I was making. Our friends Kevin and Kindra came over to join us for the evening. While we were waiting, David was upset, so Rachel gave him her doll to try and make him happy. It was so cute. Also, Kevin yells "Be quiet Fish" (quoting Despicable Me) when their son cries. Rachel started yelling "Quiet Fishy" to David when he cried. We then went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, where our experience was a little less than ideal. We called ahead, but still waited 45 minutes to be seated. It took a while to get our food, and when we finally did, John's stake was so burnt on one side he actually said something. They did bring him a new steak and took a bit off of his meal, but he was sad because he was so full by the time he got it back that he couldn't eat any. We headed home and watched Inside Out, which we really enjoyed. Kevin and Kindra then left and we headed to bed.

Sunday 15th - Rachel woke up much earlier than we wanted her to. We all worked on getting ready, and John went home teaching before church. Church was pretty good. Rachel saw Joni during Sacrament meeting two rows up from us, and at one point just walked up to her so she could sit with her. John kept David during priesthood so I could actually listen during Relief Society. After church, we headed home and got dinner in the oven. Joni came and joined us for dinner and brought really yummy cookies. We got the kids to bed, watched CSI: Cyber, and headed to bed ourselves.

November 2nd - November 8th

Rachel is definitely two. She likes to throw fits, and we just sit and wonder what in the world caused them. But then she does super cute things, like singing to her brother when he is upset, or talking to him when he is crying. She loves playing with her baby dolls and take them with us wherever we go. There are three particular dolls that have to go to bed with her every night. All her babies have names and she knows which one is which.

David is getting so big. His smile is contagious and full of so much joy. We think he has hit a growth spurt, because he has been eating a ton and has been a little bit upset. He still doesn't like nap time which is hard on all of us.

Monday 2nd - The kids and I went shopping in the morning. We stopped by Walmart and Kid-to-Kid to pick up a couple of items, but mostly to see if they had good deals on costumes that we could give Rachel for her to play dress-up. I lucked out at Kid-to-Kid. I was looking at costumes, and there was a sign that said 70% off. I was so excited. I had picked out 4 items when one of the workers came by and said that the sign should have been taken down, but they must have missed it. They were good and still let me have the 70% off of the four items though. So, we got some good stuff for Rachel for a great deal. We spent most of the afternoon at home while I tried to keep David from screaming. He had a hard day. John got home and we had dinner and got the kids in bed. After they were in bed, we started watching Blindspot, but John spent about 20 minutes on the phone with someone from Quik Check, his old job in Logan. They want him to do a statistical analysis, so he was talking to them about that. They balked a little when he told them his rate, but they want it done quickly, so we'll see how that goes. We ended up restarting Blindspot, and then went to bed.

Tuesday 3rd - The kids and I stayed home during the day. David had another tough day, and would randomly start screaming with no warning. At one point during the day, Rachel came up behind me and put her hands on my head, started whispering, and then said "Amen". I didn't think John had given that many blessings recently, but apparently she picked up on it. After I told John, we both concluded that we weren't sure if we should be concerned or think it was cute. After John got home, we had dinner and got both of the kids to bed early. David woke up for a bit after we got Rachel in bed though. John then spent a bit of time working on the analysis for Quik Check while I went to bed.

Wednesday 4th - The kids and I took the Kia in for an oil change in the morning. Apparently one of our tires had 2 nails in it, and the tread is getting a bit low, so we will be looking for a couple new tires shortly. John tutored after work, and then came home and joined us. After we got the kids in bed, we watched Survivor and John worked on his thing for Quik Check. We then got ready for and headed to bed.

Thursday 5th - Boston came over to join us for a bit of the day, so I got up early to shower. John's Dad was having heart surgery, so Boston came and played with us so that Chelsi could go be with her mom. The surgery went well, and he was doing pretty well when John went by after work. After John left the hospital, we met up at the Kia dealership. While I had been walking around during the oil change on Wednesday, I saw a couple of used mini-vans in the lot. After talking about it for a bit, John and I decided we should see if it would be possible to basically trade the Sorento for a mini-van so we don't have to get a new car when our next kid comes around. The guy helping us was great, and wanted to wait until Friday so he could see if he could get us a little extra back on our Sorento because of the warranties we purchased. John really liked this so that we could have a night to think and pray about it. We went home, got the kids in bed, and John finished up his work for Quik Check.

Friday 6th - John headed to work, and we hung out at home for most of the day. John stopped by the hospital after work to see his dad and give Tiffani a ride to the train station. After that, we all met at the Kia dealership again. We traded our Sorento, and are now the proud (at least I am proud) owners of a Kia Sedona. I'm a mini-van mom! John knows it is a good vehicle to have, but he can't be happy about it on principle.  Our payment went down as well, which will be nice. We drove home, at dinner, and got the kids to bed. After that we watched the Amazing Race and went to bed ourselves.

Saturday 7th - John got up super early and went for a 10 mile run with his family. He said it went pretty well, but was pretty cold. We spent the rest of the morning getting ready for someone that John works with to come pick up our old couches, and for Ashley to deliver our new couches. I had a meeting for my calling at 11, so I had to leave right as the lady from John's work showed up to pick up the couches. Fortunately our landlady had some extra people visiting her, so they were able to help John load up the couches. Our couches (and other items) arrived a bit later, and were set up by the time I got home. After we rearranged a little bit and fed the kids, we went to Walmart to do our weekly grocery shopping. by the end, Rachel was about to have a melt down, but David slept most of the time we were there. We went home and got Rachel down for a nap, and John ran and got his hair cut. After he got back, we had to wake Rachel up so that we could drive over to the Kia dealership to sign a couple more papers (Mountain America didn't want to give us the rate that the finance guy thought they should, so he found us an even better rate with Cyprus Credit Union), and then out to Mo Bettah Steaks for dinner with a couple of our friends from Logan. They had been in Virginia for a couple years while he finished up school, but are back here for a little while. We enjoyed chatting with them and the food was really good. As we were leaving, Rachel had a meltdown because I wouldn't let her hold my drink, so the drive home was fun. We got her in bed shortly after we got home, and then David. Our friends Becca and Joe came over for ice cream and to play games. We played Ticket to Ride twice. John won the first time, and Joe won the second. After they left, we got to bed.

Sunday 8th - David had a rough night, getting up several times. Eventually we made it to the morning though. We got up and got ready for the day. I went visiting teaching while John watched the kids. After I got back, we finished getting the kids ready and went to church. David wanted to eat by the end of sacrament, so I missed most of Sunday school and then he was really cranky for Relief Society. After church, our ward held a linger longer. We met a few more families in the ward, which was nice. After we got home, John left to go pick up Tyler and they went to see his dad and to give him a blessing. He had been in a lot of pain and was having trouble sleeping. I stayed with the kids and worked on dinner. The kids, unfortunately, were not very happy for most of the evening. After John got home and we ate, we called my parents. We then got two very tired children to bed, and went to bed ourselves.

October 26th - November 1st

Rachel is incredibly cute with her babies. She also tries to copy us in taking care of David. Of course, she isn't big enough to do some of the things, so that turns out to be more terrifying for us at times than anything else.

David, we are realizing, is really big. He keeps growing, even though some days he doesn't seem to each as much as you would expect. He is very curious, and tries to look around and see everything he can.

Monday 26th - Rachel still had a bit of a fever most of the day, but she was acting like her old self. We made a quick run to the store to get a couple of items, and to get pumpkins to carve. John went to the orthodontist during the day to get a new retainer for his top teeth. He is looking forward to getting past the first two weeks when he has to wear it all of the time. His teeth also hurt quite a bit because they are moving a couple teeth that slid out of place. After he got home from work, we ate dinner, and then worked on carving pumpkins. We did a baby face for David, candy corn for Rachel, a pumpkin for me, and John did the Avenger's logo. We got the kids in bed, watched Blind Spot, and headed to bed ourselves.

Tuesday 27th - David threw up in the middle of the night, but fortunately it was on his changing table, so it was easy to clean up. After we got him cleaned up, I tried to feed him, but he fell right back to sleep and slept until close to 7. The kids and I went out and ran a couple of errands, mostly getting items for Halloween. I was able to meet up with my good friend Becca for lunch since she is off track right now. After we finished, I spent the afternoon trying to get Rachel to sleep, and cleaning up David every time he threw up. John stopped by St. Mark's Hospital on his way home to see his dad, and then he was able to join us. We ate dinner and worked on getting the kids to bed. Of course, right as I was about to feed David, he threw up all over me again. I had to go take a shower, and John gave David a bath, but David was all smiles. Eventually we got the kids in bed, and we headed to bed ourselves. John stayed up a little while playing his game, but he came to bed pretty quickly.

Wednesday 28th - David still wasn't feeling well today. He didn't eat very well, didn't nap, and hadn't had a wet diaper in almost 24 hours, so I called the doctor. They wanted to look at him, so John got off work a little early and met me at the doctor's. Fortunately all of the other signs looked good, so they sent us home (rather than to the hospital) and told us to just keep an eye on him. John had to leave to go tutor, and while he was gone David threw up on me again. I was able to calm him down enough, and John held him when he got home. He finally had a wet diaper, so we felt a little better. We watched Survivor and got the kids in bed, and went to bed ourselves.

Thursday 29th - Apparently I got what the kids had. I woke up in the night feeling just rotten and ended up throwing up two different times. I spent most of the day trying to keep warm and keep the kids happy. It wasn't a very enjoyable day. John was able to get off of work a few minutes early so he could come home and help. He took the kids shopping with him so I could have a few moments to take a warm bath and warm up. After he got back, he made me a smoothie and he and Rachel ate dinner. We got the kids in bed, and I went to bed super early.

Friday 30th - Most everyone was feeling better, so it was a better day. John went to work, and the kids and I stayed home. In the evening, we had a ward party. It was a chili-cookoff, and we took desset. Our friends Becca and Joe came with us, but Becca wasn't feeling very great, so we were happy they came for all that they could. We dressed up in our costumes, and Rachel had a ton of fun. It was a very popular event and there were a ton of people there. We finished up, came home, and went to bed.

Saturday 31st - John's family were running in Provo, so John went for a shorter run by himself in the morning. After he got back, we started getting ready for the day. David didn't wake up until 10:30, and only then because we started doing things to encourage him to wake up so we could go. We went to Walmart and got our grocery shopping finished. We came home so everyone could get some lunch. After that, we thought we would go out and check out a couple of furniture stores to see what we wanted to get in December. Well, we found a fantastic deal at Ashley Home Furnishings, along with no interest for 12 months, so we ended up buying some instead. We plan to pay it off in December. It is a 14 piece living room set. It has a couch, loveseat, two end tables, a coffee table, two lamps, a rug, a throw, and a 5-piece "accessory" set. We hope to sell the rug and a few of the accessories, along with our current couch and loveseat, but we are excited for new furniture. We finally made it home and put Rachel down for a late nap before the evening. Our friends Kevin and Kindra joined us with their baby for dinner and some of our Trick-or-Treat'ing. Rachel had a blast. She didn't know what to do at the first door, but after she said "trick or treat!" and they gave her candy, she had it down. She would run from house to house when we let her. The problem we found, is that she grabbed way too much. One house said "take one for you and one for daddy", so every time after she would say "one you, and one daddy!", and then try for a second handful. We got way too much candy. We eventually made it home, chatted with our landlady for a bit, and got the kids in bed.

Sunday 1st - We woke up a little early, got ready, and headed north to Bountiful for Kevin and Kindra's baby blessing. It was a nice meeting. After, we went to Kindra's mom's home for a brunch and to visit. They had a s'mores bar set up in the backyard, and it was so yummy. Rachel had a blast playing with Kindra's sister while we got to visit. We headed to John's parents to visit for a couple minutes on the way home, before getting home and laying Rachel down for another late nap. I was able to get a nap while John watched David, which was really nice. Our landlady came for dinner which was fun. David was tired and didn't understand about daylight saving so went to bed early. Rachel and I FaceTimed with my mom for a few minutes and then we got Rachel to bed. John and I stayed up and watched CSI: Cyber before heading to bed ourselves.

October 19th - October 25th

Rachel is actually starting to become a little bit helpful. As she has gotten bigger and is actually able to do things, she can actually do things. The problem is that often when we actually hope and want her to help us, she decides she doesn't want to. She loves playing with her babies and has names for them and will correct you if you get a name wrong.  She loves to sing and makes up songs a lot and tries to sing songs she knows.

David is starting to move a lot more. He can roll from his tummy to his back without too much effort when he remembers how. He has gone the other way, but only once, and he didn't like the outcome (being on his tummy).

Monday 19th - Sierra and I got ready in the morning, got the kids ready, loaded up the car, and headed out. We had to make a few stops on the way, so it took us a while to get out of town. By the time we finally got to Santiquin, it was lunch time, so we had to stop. I fed David and we continued on our journey. We made it down to St. George, and tried to relax for the rest of the evening.

Tuesday 20th - I got some items and tried to secretly clean for my mom. I enjoyed being able to do that for her. In the evening, my mom and I went over to Kid-to-Kid to get some items for the kids because my mom got a discount. We got back and got the kids in bed and went to bed ourselves.

Wednesday 21st - I got lunch and went out to lunch with my mom. It was a lot of fun. In the evening, we got to hang out at home and enjoyed our time together.

Thursday 22nd - I hung out at my parents for a bit so that I could stop by and see my dad on the way out of town, and then we began the trek home. It was a bit of a journey as the kids were not very happy. I left shortly after 11, but John still beat me home. After I got home, we unloaded the car, and tried to relax a little bit. We got the kids in bed, and went to bed ourselves.

Friday 23rd - I stayed home during the day so that the kids didn't have to go anywhere in the car. It turns out that was a good thing. John got some items on his way home from work for dinner, and we enjoyed a nice dinner. We watched Amazing race, and got to bed a bit early.

Saturday 24th - Rachel woke up yelling for me at about 4:40. John went in, and discovered that she had thrown up. Thus began our day. After we got her cleaned up, we brought her into our room. She threw up a little bit more a few minutes later, but we were able to get her cleaned up pretty quickly and back into bed. John got up shortly after that and went on a run with Trevor. They made a wrong turn, so it turned out to be a bit longer than they expected. After John got back, he went out mowed the lawn (hopefully for the last time this year) and helped our landlady empty out her storage shed. While he was mowing, Rachel threw up again, so he came in to help clean her up. After he was all ready for the day, I headed out to run some errands. While I was gone, Rachel threw up again. She had a tough day. We had moved her old toddler mattress out to the living room so we could keep an eye on her. John got her cleaned up and settled back down. Shortly after I got home, she fell asleep, and slept for a couple of hours. We after she woke up, she was upset for a little bit, but then suddenly started acting more chipper. We ended up then trying to keep her laying down, which didn't work too well. We got the kids in bed fairly early, and then worked on going to bed ourselves. John stayed up for a bit and played his game while I went to sleep.

Sunday 25th - Rachel woke up about 8. We tried to bring her into bed with us, but she was hungry (good sign) and wanted breakfast. We made her some toast, which she took forever to eat. She still had a bit of a fever, so we decided to keep her home. John went to church and I kept the kids home with me. After church, John came home for a few minutes. We had family dinner, but we forgot and scheduled Tithing Settlement at 5. John took David with him so I could focus on Rachel and went to Tithing settlement and Family Dinner. After John got back, we got the kids in bed, watched CSI Cyber, and went to bed.

October 12th - October 18th

Rachel is extremely bossy. When she wants something, especially if she wants us to go somewhere, she just tells us to come. We try to make her say please or ask, but she is still rather demanding.

David it turns out likes to wave his hands in the air, but mostly when he is sleeping, which keeps him awake. Wrapping his arms up tight seems to help him sleep better, but he has to be mostly asleep when we do it or it makes him mad.

Monday 12th - Sierra, the kids, and I went out and did some errands in the morning. We went and dropped off Sierra's iPad so it could be fixed, went to playgroup to play for a bit, and went by Costco to get some things we needed. Sierra was so good with Rachel all day and played with her a ton. David had a rough day and didn't want to sleep much. After John got home, we went over to Clair's and got Rachel's ears pierced. She did really well, and only cried for a minute after the did it. She liked looking at the earrings in the mirror, but they were definitely something new and she is getting used to them.

Tuesday 13th - Sierra, the kids, and I went out again today. We stopped and picked up Sierra's iPad, and then headed down to the Museum of Natural Curiosity. Emma was so nice and was able to get us better prices on the tickets. Rachel had an absolute blast, and was very sad when we had to go home. John tutored after work, so he got back a little late. We ate dinner, and then John helped our landlady fix our shower so we can use it again (hurray!). We were able to get the kids to bed, and then went to bed ourselves.

Wednesday 14th - John woke up early and went for a 6 mile run. He was actually the first person to wake up, because David slept through the night and only woke up a little before 7! He then went back to sleep, and the rest of us were able to sleep until almost 9. It was wonderful! We were able to relax a bit for the rest of the day, just going out to get a small treat and watching Cinderella at home. John tutored after work, so he got home a little before 7. We ate dinner, watched Survivor, and got the kids in bed, and then we went to bed ourselves.

Thursday 15th - David made it through the night again! Sierra and I went out to lunch today, and our landlady came along with us since she didn't have work due to UEA. It was a lot of fun. We got home and tried to get the kids to take a nap, but David decided a 20 minute power nap was enough for him. John was able to come home a little early, which was nice. He took Rachel over to the elementary school near our house to play on the playground equipment for a bit. She had a blast. After he got home, we ate dinner, dealt with a final tantrum from Rachel, and got the kids in bed. We were able to get David in bed before 10, and he stayed asleep! Then we headed to bed ourselves.

Friday 16th - Three days in a row! He woke up right around 7, to eat, but that is a whole lot better than 2:30! I wasn't feeling good for most of the day, so we stayed home. John was able to get off a little early so that he could come home and help me. After he came home and we ate, I was feeling a little better and was able to run to Walmart to get grocery shopping done. John got Rachel ready for bed, and we got her to bed. John had wanted to watch a bit of the USU game, but every time he started watching, they started not doing as well, so he kept turning it off and they would do better. He also tutored at about 8:30 via skype, so that kept him away for a bit too. By the time they were up by 35 points, he felt he could watch the rest of the game, so he enjoyed that. After it ended, we headed to bed.

Saturday 17th - John got up early and went for an 11 mile run. He was really tired when he got back, but said they had a pretty good pace. After he got back and we got ready, we dropped his car off to get the tires rotated and headed up to Hogle Zoo. We had a fun time walking around the zoo, and decided that Rachel would sit and watch the seal tanks for hours if we would let her. Next time we will be going to the aquarium. We headed home when we felt a few sprinkles. We dropped John off to get his car, but he managed to find a perfect break in traffic and still beat us home. We got everyone in the house, did some cleaning, and ate dinner. After dinner, Tyler came over to watch the University of Utah's football game, and John stayed up with him after I went to bed. John said he made it to bed around midnight.

Sunday 18th - We all got to sleep in until about 8:30. We then spent the morning getting ready for church and starting to prepare dinner. John spoke in sacrament meeting along with the bishop's son who is headed to Korea on his mission next month. John did a great job, and Terry and Gloria came and helped with Rachel (which was extremely helpful). David didn't want to sleep much today, so he was cranky during most of church. After church, we all headed home. We finished up and ate dinner, and I worked on packing. Rachel didn't get a nap, so we got her in bed really early, before our friends Becca and Joe came over for games. We chatted for a bit and started a game of 7 Wonders, but had to pause partway through so I could feed David and lay him down. We ended up finishing two games (they each won one). It was a lot of fun. Then we headed to bed ourselves.

October 5th - October 11th

Rachel is so cute sometimes, and very headstrong and stubborn at others. She loves taking care of her dolls and trying to act like a mom, but then she throws huge fits over tiny little things. The life of a 2 year old...

David is getting so big. He is getting a bit closer to being able to roll over. We are pretty sure he is starting to teeth. He is rather cranky a lot of the time, but we get some great moments of smiles.

Monday 5th - Today was apparently physician day. David had his 4 month appointment in the morning. He is in the 50th percentile for height, 65th for weight, and 75th for head size. He is doing well. After the kids had their naps, John and I went to the doctor just to have a check up. Everything went well, though we were a little less than impressed. John had to get his ears cleaned, which made him a bit dizzy, but he got over it. When we finished, we drove home and got ready for dinner because a couple from our ward were coming over. They came over, and we had a fun dinner and games afterwards. After they left, we got the kids in bed. David didn't want to go to sleep for a while, so we watched Big Bang Theory and Blind Spot. Eventually we all were able to go to bed.

Tuesday 6th - David decided he wanted to clean out his system. He had a blowout and spit up all over the place within about 5 minutes. So, I figure his tummy had to feel a lot better, but it was less than pleasant. John was able to come home right after work, which was nice. We at dinner and got the kids ready for bed. David fell asleep early, but woke up around 8. Rachel was very tired and went to bed right before David woke up. John tutored over Skype at 8:30 for a couple hours with his student in New York. Once he got finished, we worked to get David to bed (he was very upset), and went to bed ourselves.

Wednesday 7th - The kids and I went to playgroup in the morning in our old ward. It was a lot of fun, and the kids had a blast. After that, we stopped by Walmart really quickly. John tutored for a while after work. On Wednesdays he tutors two teenage girls, and he said one of them didn't want to do any work so it was a bit of a longer session. They were nice and gave him a couple tubs of cookie dough though. He stopped at Walmart on the way home to grab a prescription for me, and got some flowers as well, which smelled wonderful. We ate dinner and got the kids to bed, and went to bed ourselves.

Thursday 8th - The kids and I hung out at home during the day. I was able to get the cleaning done which was nice. David actually took an hour long nap, but was rather whiny once he woke up. John came home and mowed the front lawn since he won't be able to do any mowing on Saturday. He took Rachel outside with him, and she sat in the stroller and watched Netflix on his phone. Once he finished, we ate dinner and took the kids out on the freshly cut grass to get some pictures of them in their siblings shirts. Then we watched an episode of Bones, got the kids ready for bed, and actually made it to bed ourselves before 11.

Friday 9th - The kids and I went out to play group on the morning. It was a lot of fun. David had a rough day, so it was nice when John got home. He mowed the back lawn, but was able to take Rachel outside with him while he did. We enjoyed the rest of the evening and relaxing while watching an episode of The Amazing Race.

Saturday 10th - John got up really early and went for a run with Tiffani and Stacie. After he was finished, we took off for Logan. We stopped by Locker 42 and the University Bookstore to get some Aggie Swag for Halloween. After that, we went to lunch with a couple of our friends that still live up there. We then headed down to Orem to meet up with my dad so that we could pick up Sierra. Traffic was bad heading down because of the BYU game. Once we picked her up, we rushed back home because David was tired of being in the car. John watched the kids while I took Sierra over to my aunt's and did the shopping we needed to. After we got the kids in bed, John's brother Tyler came over to watch a football game. They each wanted to watch a different game, so they compromised and switched back and forth between the games. Both teams won, so they were both happy. I started and finished a new book while the boys watched the game, it was a lot of fun.

Sunday 11th -  Rachel woke up a bit early, but she was willing to hang out in bed with us, so we dozed for almost an hour more. I went visiting teaching at 10 while John watched the kids and got ready. We found out last night that there is a possible leak in the pipes of our shower, so we get to use Rachel's for a few days. After church, I went over to my Aunt's to pick up Sierra while John and our landlady worked on opening up the space needed to check the damage. We were able to figure out where the issue is, and hopefully they will get it fixed tomorrow. We ate dinner, got the kids in bed, and relaxed. We even got to watch CSI: Cyber which was fun.

September 28th - October 4th

Rachel continues to try to be like us. She gives her babies baths and washes their clothes. It is very cute. She also likes to vacuum with us while we vacuum. She still has her moments, but is very cute and growing up fast.

David continues to get big and develop. He can now roll from his stomach to his back if we put his arms under him. He hasn't quite figured out how to get them under his body himself. He likes to yell a lot, even when he isn't really upset.

Monday 28th - The kids and I went on a short trip over to Wood Creations to try and get the final items for the crafts I have been working on. Unfortunately they didn't have everything, so I will have to go back. John stopped on his way home to get the inspections done for the Aveo so he can re-register it, so it took him a little longer to get home. Once he got home, we enjoyed dinner and got the kids to bed. David went to bed about 10, but woke up just before 11. Fortunately he went right back to sleep after eating.

Tuesday 29th - David had a really hard day. It seemed like nothing would make him happy. When I finally got him to take a nap, Rachel woke up a few minutes later. John hurried home to help me out with the kids. David cheered up a little bit in the afternoon. John was supposed to tutor but then his student had to cancel, so we got to go to bed. David woke up just before bed, so I spent the first part of the night on the couch.

Wednesday 30th - John woke up early and went for a 6 mile run. He said it was a bit of a tough run. David had a really hard day, only taking a couple of 10 minute naps and then finally taking a 30 minute nap. John tutored after work and then came home and we had dinner. After dinner, John gave the kids a bath and got them ready for bed. We watched survivor and headed to bed ourselves.

Thursday 1st - We're thinking that David may be teething, because it has been a rough week or so. The night was really long as he kept waking up, so the day started really fun. Gloria was so nice to come over and watch the kids for a little bit in the afternoon because I couldn't stay awake. John had a late meeting, so he got home a little late. His tutoring appointment had to cancel on him though, so we were able to just eat dinner and hang some pictures. We got the kids in bed (eventually) and headed to bed ourselves.

Friday 2nd - John was able to get off work a little early, which was very helpful. When he got home, I was planning on going out to run some errands. Unfortunately it was raining really heavily, and the area by our front door filled with water, so when I opened the door, a wall of water came in all over my feet and the carpet. So, we spent the next bit trying to dry the carpet as best as we could and then get some fans blowing on the wet carpet. I made a quick run out to get some items for dinner because we were feeding the missionaries. It was an enjoyable dinner with them. After they left, we got Rachel in bed and worked on getting David asleep. We watched the Amazing Race and then John worked on letting David fall asleep (mostly) on his own.

Saturday 3rd - John got up early and went for a 12 mile run with his family. I got up a bit later and started getting the kids ready for the day. After John made it back, we turned on conference to watch, but missed most of the session because Rachel threw the biggest tantrum. eventually we got her settled down and were able to watch a little bit. After morning session finished, we went out and did our weekly shopping at Costco and Walmart. We hurried back home and watched afternoon session after laying Rachel down for her nap. After the session, we ate a little dinner and got ready to head out to our evening destinations. I headed to John's mom's house for girl's night, and John headed to his brother's to watch Priesthood Session. After priesthood session, John came over for dessert, and we headed home. After we got home, we got Rachel in bed, and John did a bit of a recording for one of his students that he tutors. I got David to bed while he was doing that, and we headed to bed.

Sunday 4th - We got up and worked to get the kids ready and headed to John's parent's home for breakfast and to watch morning session. Breakfast was really yummy, and Rachel behaved pretty well. David fell asleep on the couch about halfway through as well. We enjoyed morning session, and then packed up and headed home so that Rachel could take a nap. We got her down for her nap, and David fell asleep soon after so that we could watch afternoon session. The kids both slept through all of afternoon session. We ate dinner, and got the kids ready for bed. John hung up a netting over Rachel's bed, which looks so good. We watched CSI Cyber, and went to bed.

September 21st - September 27th

Rachel is very cute with her dolls. She wants to do everything that I do, and tries to take care of them. Then again, there are times she stands on their heads, so we don't leave her alone with David. She is definitely in the terrible twos though, and is very headstrong.

David continues to grow and get stronger. He is getting so big. He doesn't seem like such a blob anymore, and is getting a personality. We think he might be teething, which leads to a lot of drool, grunting, and whining.

Monday 21st - The kids and I took a walk down to Walmart to pick up a couple of items. It was a long walk, and they were ready to get out by the time we got home. John came home from work and we at dinner before Becca and Joe came over for FHE and italian cream sodas. We played a couple of games while Rachel watched some TV, and then we played 7 Wonders after we got her to bed. Joe won (as usual), but I got second! We were only able to get one game in, but it was a lot of fun. David woke up right before they left, and took a while to get back to sleep, but John was able to lay him down so that I didn't have to stay up with him.

Tuesday 22nd - Rachel was cuddling with me on the bed in the morning, but then her diaper leaked. So, Tuesday became a laundry day. John met up with Kevin to give him a lasagna I had made for him and Kindra, and then came home. After he came home, we finished up making and then ate dinner, and made a trip to Ross. We were able to find Rachel and me pants, and found some picture frames for much cheaper than Walmart had them. We headed home and got the kids to bed, and went to bed ourselves.

Wednesday 23rd - John got up early and went for a run. He went farther than he planned due to neighborhoods not lining up well. The kids and I spent the day at home, but David seemed to be having a very hard day. He didn't want to sleep, and only wanted to be held. John tutored after work, and then was able to come home and help me do a little cleaning. We got Rachel to bed, and John tutored a new student via Skype since his new student lives in New York. After he was finished, we tried to get David to fall asleep, but he wasn't having it. Eventually I stayed out in the front room until David fell asleep so that John could get some sleep.

Thursday 24th - David had a tough day. He spent a lot of time crying. The kids and I made a quick trip to Walmart to get some small items. I spent some time getting things ready for my friend Melanie and her friend to come over for dinner. John helped out when he got home. We had a lot of fun hanging out with them and their young son. After they left, we got the kids to bed, and then got David to bed again when he woke up an hour later. Eventually we got them both to sleep and were able to go to bed ourselves.

Friday 25th - The kids and I hung out at home most of the day. John tutored after work, so he got home a bit late. After he got home, we ate dinner and got the kids to bed. I worked on a photo album I'm putting together, and we worked on getting David to bed, and were eventually able to get him down and go to bed ourselves.

Saturday 26th - John woke up really early and went for a 12 mile run. I started working on Rachel's closet and getting it organized. John got back just in time to rinse off a little bit and head out to go lay sod at Tiffani's house. While he was gone, I worked on the house a little bit and started working on David's room. John got back and mowed the lawn while Rachel went down for her nap. Eventually we both were able to work on David's room and eat dinner. John and Rachel headed out to Gloria's while all the girls came here to watch the Woman's Session. We all hung out and ate lots during the session. After it ended, everybody went home, and John and Rachel came back as well. We got the kids to bed, and made it to bed ourselves.

Sunday 27th - David woke up a once during the night, but Rachel slept until 8:30, so we all got to sleep in a little bit. David didn't wake up until after 10. John got his lesson for priesthood ready, and we all got ready for church so that we could walk to church. Church was good, and Rachel had a fun time in nursery. After church, we tried to get home quickly so we could get down to family dinner, but David decided he was hungry just as we were about to leave. I fed him quickly, and we headed out. The kids fell asleep on the way there, and David slept for a while after we arrived. We had a lot of fun at the family dinner, and enjoyed the yummy spaghetti and alfredo. We had to head home a little early as Rachel was starting to have a melt down. After we got home, we watched the lunar eclipse for a bit, and then FaceTimed with my family. After we finished, we got Rachel in bed and started working on getting David to bed. He decided he was nice and awake, so we watched an episode of Survivor and headed to bed.

September 14th - September 20th

Rachel has been so cute with her baby doll; she calles her Emmy. She lays it down for naps, wraps it up in blankets, tries to feed it, and takes it to bed with her. She sometimes will help take care of David, and other times decides that she doesn't want to help.

David is getting really big. We are excited to see how big he is at his next doctor's appointment. He was sleeping well for a while, but has been having trouble sleeping the last little bit. He is getting to a stage where he wants to do stuff but he isn't big enough or coordinated enough to do much.

Monday 14th - David slept all the way through the night again. It was so nice. The kids and I spent the day at home working on some items. We ate dinner, and John's parents came over for family home evening. After a short lesson and some coloring time, we headed out to Menchies for a treat to wrap things up. We had a lot of fun there. We headed home and went to bed. Unfortunately David decided he didn't want to cooperate, so it was a long night.

Tuesday 15th - The kids and I went on some errands during the day. We needed some bigger clothes and pjs for the kids, and I wanted to get a couple craft items for our "Home" sign. John tutored after work, and was later than normal because his student was really late due to a late plumber and he had to meet with him in Bountiful. He made a bit extra though, which was nice. After he got home, we watched America's Got Talent and worked on getting the kids into bed, and eventually got there ourselves.

Wednesday 16th - I was able to get the craft painted and got some cleaning done around the house. John tutored again after work, but this time back at a family he tutored last year in Herriman, so he was able to get home earlier. We watched the results of America's Got Talent, and headed to bed.

Thursday 17th - I worked on some more crafts for David's room, and tried to keep him happy. He had a really hard day, and of course his worst time was during Rachel's nap, so I couldn't go for a drive. John had a last minute meeting get scheduled at work, so he didn't even get off work until after 5. Once he got home, he took Rachel outside so that I could finish up dinner with a little less distraction. After we ate, we got the kids in bed, and tried to head to bed, but David woke up after only being asleep for about 30 minutes.

Friday 18th - John got up and went for a run before heading off to work.  I got to facetime with my grandma which was a lot of fun. John stopped and got his hair cut and an oil change done on his way home. After he got home, we ate dinner and went to the restaurant supply store and Costco. We are still searching for garam masala, and figured they'd have it there. They didn't, but we picked up a new waffle iron as our last one broke and some syrups. We got home and got the kids to bed, or at least tried. David didn't stay asleep, so he and I were up a lot longer.

Saturday 19th - John had to go to a 4 hour class in the morning due to a ticket he got a few weeks ago. David woke up a little bit, but pretty much slept until 11. After he woke up, the kids and I went to Walmart to do our weekly grocery shopping. John came back and worked on the lawn for a bit. Rachel was able to play in the backyard for most of the time he was working. After he was finished, we put Rachel down for a nap and I went to try and get my hair done. Unfortunately the hair college stopped taking new appointments 15 minutes before I got there. I headed back home, and we worked on hanging up some pictures. It is nice as our house is starting to look more like our home.

Sunday 20th - Both kids slept past 8, which was wonderful. After they got up, we all cuddled for a little bit, and then got up. John had a PPI at the church at 10, so he was gone for a little bit. After he got back, we started working on dinner and got the kids ready for church. It was the primary program at church so we had to sit in the back overflow.  After church John walked home with Rachel and I drove home in the car with David.  We finished getting dinner ready and had our landlady Joni over for dinner.  That evening after Rachel's bath we Facetimed with my family.

September 8th - September 13th

Rachel wants to be independent so badly. She tries to "help," which means she wants to do it all by herself, which leads to problems. She is very cute, and says just the right things at the right times though.

David is getting big, and is starting to sleep more. He doesn't sleep much during the day, but he is doing better at night. He likes to be able to see things, as well as have people talk to him. He gives such big smiles when he is happy. It is very cute.

Monday 7th - John woke up early and went for a 6 mile run with my mom and Chelsi. He said it was a lot of fun to run as that group again. After he and my mom got back, we headed over to the Boulevard for breakfast and to take a look at the sale prices. After we finished there, we headed back to my parents to begin the packing process. My mom and I ran over to Swig to get drinks while John did some initial packing. After we got back, we played a game of BANG! Unfortunately for John, he was out before his second turn. My dad, mom, and I ended up winning. We then got everything ready and headed back home. Rachel slept for a little over an hour, and David slept almost the whole way back. We had pretty good conditions, and only really had to slow for some debris on the road just past Nephi. After we got home, we unpacked a little bit and headed to bed.

Tuesday 8th - John headed off to work in the morning and the kids decided they wanted to have a tough day. I didn't get nearly as much finished as I wanted to as David was feeling particularly needy. John tutored after work, so he got home a bit late. After he got home, we ate dinner and watched America's Got Talent and got the kids to bed. David went down really early but then decided that was just a nap and he wanted to be up for a while longer. Eventually we got him to bed as well, and headed to bed ourselves.

Wednesday 9th - The kids were a little better today, but not as much as I would like. We made a trip to costco during the day to get more diapers since Costco was having a sale on them. John was able to come home right after work, and we were able to get some things cleaned up around the house. We enjoyed dinner, watched some TV, and headed to bed.

Thursday 10th- The kids got up way too early, and David decided he needed to be held again most of the day. Rachel had a lot of fun playing during her nap time, but never did fall asleep. Our TV must have gotten unplugged because it wasn't working during the day either, which made things fun. John got home at his normal time, and then took Rachel with him to Walmart to get a couple of items we needed while I finished dinner. After we ate, John gave the kids a bath and we got them to bed, and headed to bed ourselves.

Friday 11th - John got up early and went for a 6 mile run since he couldn't go Saturday. He said he really enjoyed a section of his run where a business had put up about 50-100 flags along the sidewalk that he got to run past. I spent the day with the kiddos.  After John got home he studied for the GRE some more and then we went to bed.

Saturday 12th - John got up in the morning and left to take the GRE.  The kids were not happy especially David so I decided that we should go grocery shopping. The drive put David to sleep which made everyone happier.  After John got home he mowed the lawn.  We had a relaxing afternoon where Rachel, David, and I all got naps while John updated some stuff for his Grad School applications. John and Rachel made a quick trip to Walmart to get some yogurt for dinner, and we made Hole-in-One Toast and smoothies. After dinner, we went to Leatherby's for dessert and to celebrate John's good score on the GRE. John and I shared a banana split, and Rachel got a scoop of ice cream (which she barely touched, so I get it). We headed home and went to bed.

Sunday 13th - David didn't wake up at all during the night, which was so nice. John and I woke up before either of the kids at 8:45. When I woke up, I was slightly panicked since David hadn't woken up during the night, so I ran into his room to make sure he was ok. John laughed at me a little bit for it. We spent the morning relaxing and getting ready for church. We had to go about 30 minutes early because I got a calling. I am part of the Relief Society committee, and I will be helping plan the weekly events that our Relief Society does. Church was pretty good. After church, we rushed home so we could get dinner ready because we invited our landlady to join us. Dinner was a lot of fun, but we had to rush a little bit so we could make it over for John's nephew Trevor's Eagle Court of Honor. John got to sit in the Eagle's Nest, and I tried to keep the kids happy and quiet. Rachel and Boston had a lot of fun hugging each other. After it was over, we headed home, got the kids in bed, and headed to bed ourselves.

August 31st - September 6th

Rachel is getting much better at giving kisses on request (mostly at night and if we are going somewhere). Most of the time she is really good and just loves to play with all her toys but she is definitely a strong willed 2 year old. She loves to 'help' which is always really cute if not very helpful.  When John gets back from his Saturday runs she loves to stretch with him which is adorable.

David is getting so much bigger and more aware.  He is getting better at holding his head up and his legs are quite strong.  He is now 3 months old and weighs about 14 pounds.  He is a pretty good baby unless you lay him on the floor and don't talk to him.

Monday 31st - I worked on our menu and shopping list while hanging out with the kids during the day. After John got home, we all went out on a shopping expedition. We first went to Costco to get a new vacuum (our old one died, but 4 years out of a pretty cheap vacuum isn't too bad) and some food. We then went to Walmart to get the rest of the food items we needed. Things took a lot longer than we expected, especially when the person checking out ahead of us had problems with the system. We eventually made it home and went to bed.

Tuesday 1st - Happy September! I had a better day at home with kids. I even got a bit of a nap with David until the Elders stopped by to set up an appointment to come meet with us. Apparently that is the process in our new stake. It will be nice to have them come, but I wish they could have waited a few more minutes. John got home from work and took the kids on a walk so I could focus on dinner. Our friends Becca and Joe came over for dinner, and we played Ticket to Ride after. It was a lot of fun. We then watched a little bit of America's Got Talent while we got David to sleep, and headed to bed ourselves.

Wednesday 2nd - John got up and ran 6 miles before heading to work. Unfortunately both kids woke up before he was able to leave for work and Rachel was very sad that he was leaving her. The kids and I had a good day, with David deciding that his favorite place to sleep was on the couch. The missionaries came over in the evening to meet us and give us a member lesson. It was fun, and John had fun seeing how they taught the lesson. After they left, we had dinner and finished America's Got Talent from the night before, and watched the results. After we finished, John got Rachel in the bath, but while she was in the bath, the Elders Quorum presidency showed up to meet us. A basement apartment in the backyard and two sets of visitors in one day! After they left, we got the kids in bed and went to bed ourselves.

Thursday 3rd - The kids and I hung out during the day while I packed for Friday. John had tutoring after work, and was not very happy with all of the traffic up by the U for the game. He tutored for a couple of hours, and then came home. We got everything ready we could and headed to bed.

Friday 4th - John headed to work in the morning, but was able to get off work early due to a company BBQ. After he got home, we loaded up the car, and headed out. Unfortunately on the way out, Rachel tripped on the stairs and hit her cheek. We felt so bad, and she was quite upset. The first part of the drive was a little tricky with a lot of traffic, and the whole part was a little bit of a pain with a strong headwind. Our gas milage was not good. It was nice that David slept the whole way so we didn't have to stop and feed him. We got to my parents' house around 6:30, and hung out during the evening before heading to bed.

Saturday 5th - John and my mom got up and went for a run in the morning. After they got back, John, Gibson, and I went over to tennis. After tennis, we rushed home so that we could go over to Smile Creations for some pictures of David and Rachel. They turned out so well. After pictures, we came back to my parents and got the kids settled so that John and I could go out on our first date since David was born. We went to Olive Garden for lunch, which was so much fun. We had a bit of extra time, so we ran back to my parents so that I could feed David, and then we went to see the new Mission Impossible movie. We both really liked it. After the movie, we came home for dinner and hung out for most of the evening. I ran up to Wal-Mart to get a couple of things for Rachel because she had hurt her wrist earlier in the day while throwing a tantrum. We got it wrapped up, and got her in bed, and hung out for the rest of the evening.

Sunday 6th - When Rachel woke up John got up with her and let me sleep in a little bit longer with David.  We headed to church with David sleeping for most of it and Rachel going to nursery,  which was nice.  After we got home, I laid down with Rachel to take a short nap.  John woke me up when a friend from high school stopped by with her little boy. It was a lot of fun to talk to her and catch up on our lives.  That evening for dinner we had my dad's delicious spaghetti and then had some fun playing some different games until bedtime.

August 24th - August 30th

Rachel seems to have discovered how to step her tantrums up a notch. She screams so loudly she makes herself cough sometimes and she has started hitting when she is really upset.

David is getting big, and is starting to move his legs and arms a lot. We think he is getting past his colic stage as with the move we couldn't find his drops for a couple of days.

Monday 24th - I got ready in the morning and headed over to our old place about noon. I then spent the afternoon cleaning and trying to get Rachel to take a nap. After John got off work, he came over and joined us and worked on the nails in the walls mostly. We stayed until about 7 and then headed home so we could get Rachel and David to bed.

Tuesday 25th - I got over to the apartment a little bit earlier so that I would have more time. Rachel played for a quite a while when she was supposed to be taking her nap, so she didn't sleep long. John came over after work again, and we were able to get everything finished and packed up. We were going to take a video and pictures of the apartment, but decided to go swimming one last time on Thursday and that we would do it then. We headed home, got the kids to bed, watched America's Got Talent, and then went to bed ourselves.

Wednesday 26th - I spent most of the day unpacking at our new house. I was able to get Rachel's room organized with all of her toys. John thinks she has too many toys. After John came home, he took Rachel and David for a walk while I made dinner. After dinner, I ran to Walmart to pick up a couple of items. I wanted to get a fence for my sewing area, but it was a lot more expensive than I thought, and they were out. After I got home, our landlady came down to help John install our microwave, but it turns out we don't have the hardware we need to install it, so hopefully Thursday night. We got the kids to bed, and then we went to bed.

Thursday 27th - John got up early and went for a 6 mile run. He started on the canal trail, but it was so dark that he didn't feel comfortable staying on it (and he lost it at an intersection). I got up after he got home so that I could shower before he left since the Relief Society President from our new ward was coming to visit. I spent the afternoon unpacking a few boxes. That evening after John got home we ate dinner and then headed over to our old apartment to go swimming. Becca and Joe came to join us and that was a lot of fun.

Friday 28th - I spent the morning unpacking and keeping the kiddos happy. In the afternoon Terry and Gloria came over to help me do some unpacking and then after John got home from work they went with us to our apartment checkout as witnesses. On our way home we stopped at Walmart to pick up some lights. After we got back we put the kiddos in the stroller and went over our new Bishop's house to pick some fresh peaches. That night my mom arrived with Quinn and Sierra. Rachel was super excited and got to bed late because she just wanted to play.

Saturday 29th - John went on an early morning run with his family and he took Quinn with him.  They went 10 miles and Quinn was very sore the rest of the day. After they got back John mowed the lawn. My mom, Sierra, the kiddos, and I went yard saleing and then to Kid-to-Kid to find some bigger clothes for david and a gate to go around my sewing area. That afternoon Gloria, Chelsi, Stacie, and Katie came over to do a craft. It was a lot of fun. We had a yummy dinner of hamburgers and corn on the cob. After dinner my cousin came over to see Quinn for the first time since he got back from his mission. We started a movie that night after Rachel was in bed but we were all pretty tired so we didn't finish it.

Sunday 30th - We had a fairly relaxed morning until my mom, Quinn, and Sierra left for a mission homecoming and then to head home. John made a yummy breakfast for everyone. We finished getting ready and then headed to church. It was the fifth Sunday so John and I got to stay together the whole time which was nice.  After church we hurried home to  change and grab something to eat.  We dropped the kiddos off at my in-laws and headed to a hospital in Bountiful to see our friends Kevin and Kindra and their adorable new baby.  We were there for a little bit waiting our turn with the cute new bundle and then we headed back to pick up the kids.  Rachel fell asleep on the way home so we took off her shoes and put her to bed. We got David to sleep and then got to spend some time together.
