October 12th - October 18th

Rachel is extremely bossy. When she wants something, especially if she wants us to go somewhere, she just tells us to come. We try to make her say please or ask, but she is still rather demanding.

David it turns out likes to wave his hands in the air, but mostly when he is sleeping, which keeps him awake. Wrapping his arms up tight seems to help him sleep better, but he has to be mostly asleep when we do it or it makes him mad.

Monday 12th - Sierra, the kids, and I went out and did some errands in the morning. We went and dropped off Sierra's iPad so it could be fixed, went to playgroup to play for a bit, and went by Costco to get some things we needed. Sierra was so good with Rachel all day and played with her a ton. David had a rough day and didn't want to sleep much. After John got home, we went over to Clair's and got Rachel's ears pierced. She did really well, and only cried for a minute after the did it. She liked looking at the earrings in the mirror, but they were definitely something new and she is getting used to them.

Tuesday 13th - Sierra, the kids, and I went out again today. We stopped and picked up Sierra's iPad, and then headed down to the Museum of Natural Curiosity. Emma was so nice and was able to get us better prices on the tickets. Rachel had an absolute blast, and was very sad when we had to go home. John tutored after work, so he got back a little late. We ate dinner, and then John helped our landlady fix our shower so we can use it again (hurray!). We were able to get the kids to bed, and then went to bed ourselves.

Wednesday 14th - John woke up early and went for a 6 mile run. He was actually the first person to wake up, because David slept through the night and only woke up a little before 7! He then went back to sleep, and the rest of us were able to sleep until almost 9. It was wonderful! We were able to relax a bit for the rest of the day, just going out to get a small treat and watching Cinderella at home. John tutored after work, so he got home a little before 7. We ate dinner, watched Survivor, and got the kids in bed, and then we went to bed ourselves.

Thursday 15th - David made it through the night again! Sierra and I went out to lunch today, and our landlady came along with us since she didn't have work due to UEA. It was a lot of fun. We got home and tried to get the kids to take a nap, but David decided a 20 minute power nap was enough for him. John was able to come home a little early, which was nice. He took Rachel over to the elementary school near our house to play on the playground equipment for a bit. She had a blast. After he got home, we ate dinner, dealt with a final tantrum from Rachel, and got the kids in bed. We were able to get David in bed before 10, and he stayed asleep! Then we headed to bed ourselves.

Friday 16th - Three days in a row! He woke up right around 7, to eat, but that is a whole lot better than 2:30! I wasn't feeling good for most of the day, so we stayed home. John was able to get off a little early so that he could come home and help me. After he came home and we ate, I was feeling a little better and was able to run to Walmart to get grocery shopping done. John got Rachel ready for bed, and we got her to bed. John had wanted to watch a bit of the USU game, but every time he started watching, they started not doing as well, so he kept turning it off and they would do better. He also tutored at about 8:30 via skype, so that kept him away for a bit too. By the time they were up by 35 points, he felt he could watch the rest of the game, so he enjoyed that. After it ended, we headed to bed.

Saturday 17th - John got up early and went for an 11 mile run. He was really tired when he got back, but said they had a pretty good pace. After he got back and we got ready, we dropped his car off to get the tires rotated and headed up to Hogle Zoo. We had a fun time walking around the zoo, and decided that Rachel would sit and watch the seal tanks for hours if we would let her. Next time we will be going to the aquarium. We headed home when we felt a few sprinkles. We dropped John off to get his car, but he managed to find a perfect break in traffic and still beat us home. We got everyone in the house, did some cleaning, and ate dinner. After dinner, Tyler came over to watch the University of Utah's football game, and John stayed up with him after I went to bed. John said he made it to bed around midnight.

Sunday 18th - We all got to sleep in until about 8:30. We then spent the morning getting ready for church and starting to prepare dinner. John spoke in sacrament meeting along with the bishop's son who is headed to Korea on his mission next month. John did a great job, and Terry and Gloria came and helped with Rachel (which was extremely helpful). David didn't want to sleep much today, so he was cranky during most of church. After church, we all headed home. We finished up and ate dinner, and I worked on packing. Rachel didn't get a nap, so we got her in bed really early, before our friends Becca and Joe came over for games. We chatted for a bit and started a game of 7 Wonders, but had to pause partway through so I could feed David and lay him down. We ended up finishing two games (they each won one). It was a lot of fun. Then we headed to bed ourselves.
