August 31st - September 6th

Rachel is getting much better at giving kisses on request (mostly at night and if we are going somewhere). Most of the time she is really good and just loves to play with all her toys but she is definitely a strong willed 2 year old. She loves to 'help' which is always really cute if not very helpful.  When John gets back from his Saturday runs she loves to stretch with him which is adorable.

David is getting so much bigger and more aware.  He is getting better at holding his head up and his legs are quite strong.  He is now 3 months old and weighs about 14 pounds.  He is a pretty good baby unless you lay him on the floor and don't talk to him.

Monday 31st - I worked on our menu and shopping list while hanging out with the kids during the day. After John got home, we all went out on a shopping expedition. We first went to Costco to get a new vacuum (our old one died, but 4 years out of a pretty cheap vacuum isn't too bad) and some food. We then went to Walmart to get the rest of the food items we needed. Things took a lot longer than we expected, especially when the person checking out ahead of us had problems with the system. We eventually made it home and went to bed.

Tuesday 1st - Happy September! I had a better day at home with kids. I even got a bit of a nap with David until the Elders stopped by to set up an appointment to come meet with us. Apparently that is the process in our new stake. It will be nice to have them come, but I wish they could have waited a few more minutes. John got home from work and took the kids on a walk so I could focus on dinner. Our friends Becca and Joe came over for dinner, and we played Ticket to Ride after. It was a lot of fun. We then watched a little bit of America's Got Talent while we got David to sleep, and headed to bed ourselves.

Wednesday 2nd - John got up and ran 6 miles before heading to work. Unfortunately both kids woke up before he was able to leave for work and Rachel was very sad that he was leaving her. The kids and I had a good day, with David deciding that his favorite place to sleep was on the couch. The missionaries came over in the evening to meet us and give us a member lesson. It was fun, and John had fun seeing how they taught the lesson. After they left, we had dinner and finished America's Got Talent from the night before, and watched the results. After we finished, John got Rachel in the bath, but while she was in the bath, the Elders Quorum presidency showed up to meet us. A basement apartment in the backyard and two sets of visitors in one day! After they left, we got the kids in bed and went to bed ourselves.

Thursday 3rd - The kids and I hung out during the day while I packed for Friday. John had tutoring after work, and was not very happy with all of the traffic up by the U for the game. He tutored for a couple of hours, and then came home. We got everything ready we could and headed to bed.

Friday 4th - John headed to work in the morning, but was able to get off work early due to a company BBQ. After he got home, we loaded up the car, and headed out. Unfortunately on the way out, Rachel tripped on the stairs and hit her cheek. We felt so bad, and she was quite upset. The first part of the drive was a little tricky with a lot of traffic, and the whole part was a little bit of a pain with a strong headwind. Our gas milage was not good. It was nice that David slept the whole way so we didn't have to stop and feed him. We got to my parents' house around 6:30, and hung out during the evening before heading to bed.

Saturday 5th - John and my mom got up and went for a run in the morning. After they got back, John, Gibson, and I went over to tennis. After tennis, we rushed home so that we could go over to Smile Creations for some pictures of David and Rachel. They turned out so well. After pictures, we came back to my parents and got the kids settled so that John and I could go out on our first date since David was born. We went to Olive Garden for lunch, which was so much fun. We had a bit of extra time, so we ran back to my parents so that I could feed David, and then we went to see the new Mission Impossible movie. We both really liked it. After the movie, we came home for dinner and hung out for most of the evening. I ran up to Wal-Mart to get a couple of things for Rachel because she had hurt her wrist earlier in the day while throwing a tantrum. We got it wrapped up, and got her in bed, and hung out for the rest of the evening.

Sunday 6th - When Rachel woke up John got up with her and let me sleep in a little bit longer with David.  We headed to church with David sleeping for most of it and Rachel going to nursery,  which was nice.  After we got home, I laid down with Rachel to take a short nap.  John woke me up when a friend from high school stopped by with her little boy. It was a lot of fun to talk to her and catch up on our lives.  That evening for dinner we had my dad's delicious spaghetti and then had some fun playing some different games until bedtime.
