Rachel continues to grow and learn. She has started to string together full sentences this last week. She wants to do everything that we do, and to "help" with everything we do. She doesn't eat much as she is too busy running around, so we try to get her to drink milk and chocolate milk.
David makes really cute noises. His colic has been better most nights, but he still has moments where we can't get him to calm down and be happy. He seems to be most cheerful at about 10:30 at night, which is cute but we wish he would be cute the following morning instead.
Monday 10th - I took the kids out to run some errands in the morning. I had plans to go to paint the extra bathroom in our new place after, but errands took longer than I anticipated, so we didn't make it over. It actually worked out, though, because Joni hadn't been able to get the paint stuff out, so I wouldn't have been able to paint anyway. In the afternoon, Becca invited the kids and me to go swimming with her. Rachel had a blast, and David didn't like the cold water and breeze. Near the end, Rachel was so tired she just came over and sat with me, putting her head on my shoulder. So, I took her home, gave her a shower, and put her down for her nap. She was still asleep when John got home, so he woke her up so she would go to sleep later. We ate dinner and then John's parents came to join us for FHE. Unfortunately, about 5 seconds before they knocked, David threw up all over himself and John. So, after an unexpected delay for a bath, we had a quick lesson. After we finished, we headed out to show Terry and Gloria our new place. When we finished there, we went to Menchies for a treat. It was a lot of fun, but ended a little later than we had hoped.
Tuesday 11th - John got up early and went for a run with Stacie. The kids and I hung out at home and I started working on packing up the bookshelves in the extra room. When John got home, we took a trip to Home Depot and Lowes to see if we could find some returned paint we could use to paint the bathroom at our new place (wanted to cover a very bright purple). We were unsuccessful at finding a good color, but the lady at Lowes was very helpful, and we had a plan that we would use the paint our landlord had as a primer and then cover that in a different color after. We then headed home, got some dinner, and went to bed.
Wednesday 12th - I had plans to go and paint in the morning, but as happens with kids, plans had to change. Rachel and David were both having tough mornings, and errands took longer than expected. So, I had time to tape most of the bathroom before I ran out of tape and the kids had had enough. John and I discussed it and decided to meet in the evening (after I got more tape) to paint together. So, in the evening that is what we did. I brought dinner, and we painted the bathroom while trying to convince Rachel to stay out. We got the first coat on, but it needed another in some places as the purple was showing through.
Thursday 13th - I had a dentist appointment in the morning. No Cavities! Hurray! After I finished up there, I headed over and finished painting the bathroom. I then headed home and worked on getting the kids asleep. Rachel went down alright, but David did not want to fall asleep. After an hour, I finally got him to sleep, but shortly after a couple of kids rang our doorbell a couple of times and pounded on the door. It was so sudden and loud that I was thinking the building must be on fire. No. They were selling lemonade for 50 cents. Needless to say, David was awake and I was not happy. After John got home, I took David and went to a baby shower for our good friend Kindra. It was a lot of fun, and she loved the carseat cover and nursing cover I made for her and kept showing people. It made me feel so good. John and Rachel played at home while I was gone, and worked on packing.
Friday 14th - I took the kids over to the new place and did some work on the new place. In the afternoon, Gloria was so nice and came over to watch the kids until John got home so that I could go help Becca set up her classroom. John got off work early so that he could get home to be with the kids. After he got home, he took a load over to the new place. After I got finished with Becca, John and I enjoyed a relaxing evening at home.
Saturday 15th - John got up early and went for a run. After he got home, we headed out to Bountiful to go to breakfast one last time with Kevin and Kindra before she has her baby. When we got to the place though, it had closed. We went to another place instead. It was really yummy. After we finished, we took the load of stuff we had packed up the night before to the new place. We then went home and John took another load over while Rachel was sleeping. After she woke up, we took one last load over and John put together the crib. We then went to Walmart to get food for our last week here, headed home, and went to bed.
Sunday 16th - We got to sleep in a little bit, which was wonderful. We spent the morning relaxing and enjoying a yummy breakfast. Rachel had a bit of trouble staying in nursery at church, so John got to spend about 40 minutes in with her. Of course, as soon as they set up the table for snacks, she grabbed her own chair, sat down, and was fine. I went to check on her later, and she was still fine but wasn't eating her snack. We don't get her. After church, John took Rachel with him home teaching while I stayed home with David. When he got back, Rachel was asleep, so we laid her on the couch to see if she would wake up. After about 15 minutes, we woke her up so she would go to bed later. We ate dinner, and our friends Becca and Joe came over for one last night of games at this apartment. After they left, John loaded some stuff in his car to take to the new place tomorrow, and we headed to bed.
