Baby Girl Week 24

Baby girl is now most likely over a pound and is probably 12 inches tall (the size of an ear of corn). Most babies at this stage have some hair growth at this point but if she is anything like my first 2 kids she doesn't have much if any at all. Sections of her lungs are expanding and she is starting to produce lung surfactant which helps to keep the lungs from collapsing after birth. 

Baby Girl Week 23

Merry Christmas 

Baby girl is just growing a little each week. She is still around maybe just over 1 pound. She now has fully formed taste buds even though she won't taste anything for several more months. Most of her fetal internal organs are now in place and beginning to function well.

Baby Girl Week 22

Baby girl is about 11 inches long and around the 1 pound mark. Her brain is growing and starting to develop more complex neurological connections. She can now hear my heart beating and the sound of my voice which is awesome!

Baby Girl Week 21

Baby Girl is about 12 ounces and 10 and 1/2 inches long. Passes time by sucking her thumb and she has started hiccuping. She is developing body fat and a thin layer of hair called lanugo.

Baby Girl Week 20

Halfway There!!!!

Baby girl is about as long a carrot. I think I felt her move for the first time this week but it was just a little flutter. So excited to meet her in another 20 weeks.

It's a... GIRL!!!!

We found out we are having a girl. John and I went to the ultrasound together in the morning and found out the gender together. I headed home and John headed to class after the appointment. I picked up the kids from the sitter and we headed out to look for silly string. It took 4 stores to find one that had the right color (and enough). We did a poll of what a few people thought we were having .  We got a cute neighbor girl to come do the video for us in the evening. It was so much fun to spray the silly string, Rachel had a blast once I helped her do it and David enjoyed eating the top of the can.

Baby Kidd Week 19

Baby Kidd is about 6 inches long and around half a pound. About the size of a mango. He or she can now make intricate facial gestures such as frowning or smiling.
