Baby Girl Week 39

Happy Easter!

Baby girl is now most likely over 7 pounds, the size of a small watermelon. She is still head down which is fantastic. I am so uncomfortable and ready to have this little girl. When walking I waddle like a penguin. I am working on finishing those last few things I want to accomplice before baby arrives.

Baby Girl Week 38

Baby girl is around or maybe slightly over 7 pounds. She has most likely hit her max height by now. Her digestive system has not fully developed, because she has not yet begun processing food. She is still head down which is really good.  She gets the hiccups at least once a day which is always such a weird feeling.
I am getting so so uncomfortable. Sleeping is hard, walking is hard, and carrying David around is almost impossible.

Baby Girl Week 37

Baby girl is most likely around 6 and a 1/2 pounds.  Most babies put on 1/2 pound of pure baby chub a week until they are born. In preparation of being born, she continues to practice breathing, moving around, sucking her thumb, and blinking. She gets hiccups about once a day and is steadily trying to push her way out of my belly. I have finished packing the hospital bags for baby girl and me.

Baby Girl Week 36

Baby girl is around 6 pounds. Nothing much is happening except that she is rapidly gaining weight. I am getting very uncomfortable and tying my shoes is almost impossible (thank heaven for flip flops). She has found a spot in my ribs that she loves to kick and it is always the same spot which hurts pretty bad. She really hates it when I sit in the car and makes her displeasure known.

Baby Girl Week 35

Baby girl is getting big, at this point babies are gaining weight at different speeds so its hard to know exactly what she weights at this point but probably over 5 pounds. Since most of her organs are fully functional and major developmental milestones behind her, the next month is all about weight gain. She is currently head down and all fingers crossed that she stays that way.

Baby Girl Week 34

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Baby girl is over 4 pounds. Finger nails and toenails are well-formed and may often grow up from the nail bed to reach the tip of the fingers and toes. She can now open and close her eyes and some research shows that her pupils constrict when exposed to bright lights.

Baby Girl Week 33

Baby girl is about 4 pounds and the size of a pineapple. The babies skeleton is hardening except the skull which remains soft and flexible to fit through the birth canal.

Baby Girl Week 32

Baby girl is now around 3 3/4 pounds and continues to grow rapidly. Some babies at this point have more hair growing on their head, it will be interesting to see if baby girl has more hair then her siblings. She loves to be awake when I am trying to go to sleep which is oh so comfortable for me. Something different this pregnancy is that baby girl rarely kicks she just rolls around and pushes the edges of my belly.

Baby Girl Week 31

Baby girl is now about 3 pounds which is the size of a bag of oranges. Her brain is now more fully developed with speech and language centers in the process of development. She now moves around a lot, flipping around, rotate and even turn her head side-to-side.

Baby Girl Week 30

Happy Valentines Day!

Baby girl is about the length of a cucumber and weight just under 3 pounds. Her eyes now open, close, and blink. Her vision is still poor and will stay that way for a few months after delivery. Some studies say that she is now dreaming when she is asleep. She now has a distinct sleep and wake cycles although it is not timed with my sleep schedule.

Baby Girl Week 29

Baby girl is now about 2 3/4 pounds. Her bones are beginning to harden and store iron, phosphorus, and calcium.

Baby Girl Week 28

Baby girl is now about 2 and a half pounds. Kicks are now more forceful and blunt.

Baby Girl Week 27

3rd Trimester!!!

Woot, made it to the 3rd trimester! Baby girl is now about 2 pounds. Her eyelashes are forming and she may now begin to open and close her eyes.  I'm getting bigger and more uncomfortable. Some of her kicks are now a little painful. 

Baby Girl Week 26

Baby girl is now almost 2 pounds and the size of a large zucchini. She continues to practice breathing by inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid. Her kicks are getting much more noticeable and sometimes a little uncomfortable. 

Baby Girl Week 25

Baby girl is now at least a pound and a half. Her nails are now starting to form on her fingers and toes. She is also starting to grasp her hands and wiggle her fingers and toes.

Merry Christmas

Christmas Eve was a good day. It started with making some cookies in the morning to leave for Santa. That evening we had the Sister Missionaries over for dinner and then they stayed long enough to read the Nativity with us. After they headed out John, Rachel, and David opened their new Christmas pajamas and Rachel helped put out the cookies for Santa before heading to bed.

Christmas day was a lot of fun. Rachel loved opening presents and was very keen to 'help' everyone open their presents as well as her own. David wasn't as into opening the presents as we thought he would be but he did like a few of his presents. Since Christmas was on a Sunday we got to go to church for Sacrament meeting.  We started our day around 7:00 and the kids opened their presents from Santa and we all went through our stockings.  We then had a delicious German pancake breakfast before getting dressed for church in our new clothes. After we got home we FaceTimed with my family while the kids opened there present from them. They had to get off to head to church and we changed into more comfortable clothes before opening the rest of the presents under the tree; we even got a few things for Baby Girl. That night for dinner the Elders came over to eat with us and then they stayed for a little while so we could play a few games.
