April 13th - April 19th

Rachel continues to grow and learn. She is getting very strong willed, so it is often a battle of wills.  She can now do what does the sheep say and when asked what the kitty says she says "kitty" which is always really funny.  She loves playing with her doll and she spends lots of time rocking them and pushing them around.  At bed time she always wants 3 of them in bed with her.

Monday 13th  - Rachel and I hung out during most of the day. I tried to sew a couple of times, but my machine was having issues and kept jamming. John was able to come home right after work, so we had a nice dinner and a relaxing evening. We even went on a walk since the weather was so nice and looked at some of the communities springing up around our apartment.

Tuesday 14th - Rachel woke up and started calling for John, so we FaceTimed for a couple of minutes so she could see him. Then Rachel and I went to my doctor's appointment, where everything was good and I got to hear babies heartbeat. We then stopped by Walmart on our way home for our weekly grocery shopping. John was able to come home straight from work so he could watch Rachel while I went to the movies with my friends Becca. We went to see The Longest Ride and I really liked it, and John is still mocking it (even though he didn't see it). John was able to tutor while I was gone.

Wednesday 15th -  It was snowing all day so Rachel and I spent the day playing and cuddling inside.  After John got off work his department went to a dinner where he ate yummy food and got to paint a painting on a canvas.  He didn't get home until almost 8:00. After we got Rachel to bed we watched Survivor and CSI Cyber.

Thursday 16th - Rachel and I went to Joann's in the morning for some fabric I needed so I could start cutting things out. When we got home I put Rachel's gloves on to make sure she would stay nice and warm and then I let her play outside in the snow for a little bit.  At first she wasn't sure what she thought but in the end she loved it and was sad to go inside.  I spent some time working on cutting out fabric while Rachel played and then while she was taking a nap I took a quick power nap and kept working.  For dinner I had planned to make baked potatoes but as I was pulling them out of the oven I realized they were squishy and bad.  While I was pulling on of them out it slipped through the bars on the rack and exploded all over the oven and me (it was hot).  Since it was already 6:00 and I didn't have anything fast to make we decided to go out for dinner.  We ended up at Red Robin which was delicious once they finally seated us but I had to go back up and ask and they had accidentally crossed our name off the list, as if we already had a table even though we didn't. After we got home John gave Rachel a bath and once she was asleep we headed to bed as well.

Friday 17th - In the morning Rachel and I took my sewing machine in to get fixed.  They told me it will take about 2 weeks which is a long time for what I was hoping would just be a tune-up.  After we got home Rachel played while I got some more fabric cut out.  We ate lunch and then went visiting teaching.  As soon as we got home I put Rachel down for her nap so I could get some more work done.  I only worked for a couple minutes and then I hit a wall, so I ended up taking a little nap as well. John tutored after work and he stopped at his parents on the way home. While we ate dinner we watched The Amazing Race.

Saturday 18th - After we all woke up John went running, 10 miles.  Once he was back and ready for the day we headed out on lots of errands. Our first stop was Kid-to-Kid to sell some stuff we won't need again. We then headed to a sewing store where I got a NEW sewing machine.  We were able to get $80 for my old machine, and then we got the new machine half off. In the end, it was a great deal! I am still so excited for it and I can't wait to use it for the first time.  Next we stopped at a DI to drop off the stuff that Kid-to-Kid didn't want.  We then headed for Joann's so I could get a little more of a fabric I had run out of and some boning for nursing covers. Our last couple stops were at Walmart and Costco.  At Costco we saw our friends Becca and Joe and invited them over for games that night.  We had fun walking around trying all the different samples.  After we got home, had nap time, and ate dinner our friends came over.  It was a lot of fun and we played a couple games of Dominion.

Sunday 19th - We had a relaxing morning, John worked on preparing his lesson for Elder's Quorum.  Since Rachel still had a low-grade fever, runny nose, and a cough I stayed home from church with her.  We both took a nice nap while John was gone and I worked on setting up my new sewing machine.  Our friends Kevin and Kindra came over for dinner and games which was a lot of fun.

April 6th - April 12th

Rachel is trying so hard to copy pretty much everything we say; it is so cute. She is much more vocal and violent when she doesn't get something she wants so she spends a bit of time in timeout for yelling and hitting.  She loves to play with her dress-up, dolls, and play food. She is definitely a girly girl.

Monday 6th - I was supposed to meet with all the Kidd women to work on a craft but I was still sick.  They still got together but Rachel and I stayed home so I didn't get anyone else sick. While we were hanging out at the house Rachel fell down and hit her mouth so she came to get love's and cuddles.  While I was giving her cuddles she fell asleep.  She slept for over 3 hours.  By the time she woke up my arm was completely asleep and my hip and leg were starting to hurt from not being able to move off the couch.  In the end it was so worth it to get so much cuddle time with my girl as it doesn't happen very often anymore as she gets older.

Tuesday 7th - In the morning Rachel and I went to Walmart for our weekly grocery shopping. When we got home Rachel and I spent more time relaxing and we both got nice naps.  After John got home we decided to go to Taco Bell for dinner because I was having a pregnancy craving for their tacos.  That night after we got Rachel to bed John tutored over FaceTime.

Wednesday 8th - While I was showering in the morning Rachel closed the door to the bathroom.  It did not make her very happy that I wouldn't get out and open the door right away. When I was getting ready I was trying to blow-dry my hair but the outlets in the bathrooms weren't working.  The breaker was fine and pressing reset on the outlet didn't do anything.  John was supposed to tutor after work but the guy he was supposed to tutor got sick so he went to get a hair cut instead.  We had dinner after he got home and enjoyed watching Survivor and CSI Cyber together that evening.

Thursday 9th - John went on a 6 mile run in the morning.  I spent the morning working on crafts for baby boy's room and Rachel had fun playing.  We both took a nap in the afternoon and John got home from work just as Rachel was waking up.  We spent the evening relaxing together; eating dinner and watching the new Big Bang Theory.  John tutored over FaceTime after Rachel was in bed.  That night John and I were just going to sleep when Rachel let out a super sad and terrified cry.  We both ended up going in to try and make her feel better.  It is always so sad when she had bad dreams.

Friday 10th - I spent the morning finished the painting project for baby boy's room and hoping that the maintenance guys would show up to fix the outlets (no such luck).  At noon Rachel and I met our playgroup at Airborne Trampoline Park.  Rachel had so much fun and was distraught when it was time to leave.  We came home and I put her down for a nap.  I thought she would be exhausted but it took her an hour to fall asleep. For dinner we went to John's parents house and had a delicious dinner and some fun conversation.  Rachel was very cranky when we got home so we FaceTimed with my parents for a few minutes and she was very happy.

Saturday 11th - John went on a 12 mile run in the morning.  After he got home and got not smelly, we packed up and went down to Tiffani's for a "Rock Party." We enjoyed lunch, and then I took Rachel and Boston inside while everyone else cleaned up a lot of rocks from Tiff and Don's yard. I managed to get Boston to fall asleep, which I was informed was a miracle. Rachel wasn't too pleased with me not being able to hold her, and acted a little distant from me for a good part of the afternoon. After the party ended, we headed home. Rachel fell asleep on the way home, but we were lucky enough that she fell back to sleep once we laid her in her bed after we got back. She slept for about 2 hours total. After she woke up, we went over to In-n-Out to grab dinner. John had to eat quickly, and then he headed up to the University of Utah for his friend Kevin's Senior Recital. He said that it went really well, and that Kevin did a great job. I stayed home and put Rachel to bed.

Sunday 12th - Rachel slept late for the first morning all week.  John and I enjoyed getting to relax in bed. He played on his phone and I read and worked on my lesson.  We spent a relaxing morning getting ready for church and actually managed to leave on time.  My co-teacher was out of town so John came into my class for the lesson to help me keep the kids under control.   He got to see all the different things I have talked about in the past and is grateful that he doesn't teach 4 year olds.  After we got home we made brownies for some friends and tried to go visit them.  On the way back John stopped at the playground with Rachel while I went inside to work on setting the table and making sure dinner would be ready.  Our friends Becca and Joey came over for some dinner and games.  After dinner John gave Rachel a super quick bath and we put her to bed early since she was super cranky from no nap.  We played 2 games of Dominion; I won one of them and John won the other but we all had a lot of fun.

March 30th - April 5th

Rachel now answers "what does the train say?" and "what does the sheep say?". She also seems to have determined at exactly what point she needs to start being very cute before we lock her in her room.  When we are home she has been sleeping in more which is super nice.

Monday 30th - Rachel and I went grocery shopping in the morning.  Rachel was super cute and was telling everyone hello and good-by.  John dropped the Aveo off at the dealership so that the recall items could be fixed.  He took their shuttle back to our apartment and then we had some friends over for dinner.  We played a game of Dominion after dinner which was a lot of fun.  After they left we headed back to the dealership to pick up the car. We got there at 8:50, and they are supposed to close at 9. John managed to catch someone so he could get his keys, but they had already locked everything up. We were less than impressed.

Tuesday 31st - I had a doctors appointment in the morning.  The doctor was at the hospital so I was seen by an RN.  After we got home we had some lunch and then I spent the rest of the day resting because I did not feel good at all. John was so sweet after he got home from work as he took care of Rachel and me.

Wednesday April 1st - I spent the morning playing with Rachel and cleaning the house before someone came to spray for ants.  After lunch I got Rachel down for her nap and Gloria came over to help me cut squares for baby boys quilt.  Rachel woke up while she was there and Rachel had fun showing off for her grandma.  John tutored after work and when he came home we had fun watching Survivor together while we ate dinner. After Rachel went to bed John started packing his suitcase.

Thursday 2nd - John had to go to work for part of the day.  While he was gone I finished up laundry and packed suitcases for Rachel and myself.  After John got home he finished packing up his stuff and then loaded up the car.  We managed to drive to Beaver before we had to stop for dinner and a bathroom break.  The rest of the trip was uneventful which is just the way we like it.  John and I listened to a book during the trip which was fun.  After we got to my parents house we had lots of fun just watching Rachel run around and drag anyone who would go with her to different toys.  Because we didn't get to my parent's until 8 Rachel went to bed late. She was having way to much fun with everyone.

Friday 3rd - I woke up with a sore throat and no voice. Despite that we had a very busy day. John and my mom went running in the morning.  They ran 5 miles together and then John ran another 5 and a half by himself.  After we were all ready for the day my mom, Rachel, and I took Gibson to tennis and then went to get Swig and some fabric. Rachel fell asleep on the way back from the fabric store so when we got there I took her out of the car and laid her down. For lunch John, my mom, and I went to Mongolian BBQ.  Since Rachel was still asleep Sierra offered to stay home and keep an ear out for her.  After we got our lunch to go we drove over to Wood Creations so I could get some wall hangings for baby boy's room.  John and I went to the mall after we finished eating our lunch.  We picked a book for John and I got a pair of maternity capri pants.  Rachel was awake when we got back. Gibson and I went outside with Rachel while my mom and dad went to Walmart.  That night we all enjoyed watching Amazing Race together. My mom, Gibson, John, and I stayed up late waiting for my mom's aunt, uncle, cousin, and his son to get there from Arizona.  They needed somewhere to spend the night on their way up to Salt Lake for conference.

Saturday 4th - We had a delicious waffle breakfast before my mom's family left.  John, Gibson, and I went to tennis.  It was so much fun. I even got to play a little bit which was awesome. It was an Easter theme so everyone was in bright colors and there was chocolate candy and chocolate milk afterwards.  On the way back to the house we made a stop at Swig for some drinks.  After we got back and dressed  for the day my mom and I worked on some sewing and we finished the bumper pads for baby boy's crib while we listened to Conference. In between sessions, my mom and John worked on moving the beds around upstairs.  After Conference my mom and I ran a couple errands to Seagull Book and Kid-to-Kid.  On the way home we stopped at the movies to get tickets to Cinderella.  We got home in time to watch Rachel so the boys could go to priesthood session.  A little after 6 we headed to the theater.  The movie was so so good.  Rachel's favorite part was the short Frozen film at the beginning.  She danced and cheered for all 7 minutes of it. I only took her out of the theater once and that was because baby boy was using my bladder as a trampoline.  My mom got Rachel a Cinderella doll to play with at the movies and she loved it.  We didn't get home until almost 9 and the boys had beaten us. We hurried to get Rachel in the bath and to bed. Rachel made my mom come up with her for bath time and had to lay down in 3 different spots before she could hold still enough to be undressed.

Sunday 5th - Rachel woke up early so we kept her in our room for a little while while others were still asleep.  Once my parents were up we let Rachel knock on Gibson and Sierra's doors to wake them up. She was very excited to knock.  We came downstairs all together and John and I tried to get Rachel interested in her presents from the Easter bunny but she found an egg with candy and that was all she wanted to do.  I helped her find the eggs in the house and then we went outside where she was not interested in putting them in her basket.  She just wanted to play with all the eggs.  She bounced them on the trampoline, put them up by the slide and moved them around the yard. Finally I finished gathering the eggs for her and we made her go inside.  Rachel wanted lots of chocolate and every time she saw someone with some she would take it to eat.  While we were out hunting my dad was working on a delicious breakfast.  When we got back inside my mom started helping my dad and the rest of us kept Rachel occupied.  We had fruit, german pancakes, Costco muffins, bacon, sausage, eggs, and hash browns.  John and I worked on packing up our stuff after breakfast. We enjoyed watching the morning session  while Rachel played. We played outside for a little bit in between so Rachel could get some energy out and John and I packed up the car.  Before leaving we ate a delicious Easter dinner with pork chops. We had a tail wind on the way home so we made pretty good time and we only had to stop once for a bathroom break.  After we got home John unloaded the car and I worked on unpacking the suitcases.  We had a super simple dinner and then it was bath time for Rachel and bed time for all of us.
