February 16th - February 22nd

Rachel continues to grow and learn. She knows how to answer the question "What does a cow say?" When she runs, it looks a little bit like a gallop, which is incredibly cute and funny.  She is getting much better at blowing kisses and it is so fun to watch her do it with her sound affects.  Good-by is probably her favorite word, she tells other cars on the street, people we pass in the grocery store aisle, and anyone else we pass anywhere.

Monday 16th - Happy Presidents Day! Since it was a holiday John didn't have to work. We did a little grocery shopping in the morning and stopped to look at a townhouse just for fun. It had little bedrooms but was a lot more expensive. It was fun to look around though. While Rachel and I took naps, John took the Kia to Discount Tire to get the front tire patched and then the tires rotated. That evening for dinner we met Kevin and Kindra at Leatherby's. It was so much fun to talk with them.

Tuesday 17th - I had a doctors appointment in the morning. Rachel was super cute while we were there. After they checked baby boys heartbeat Rachel laid down and pulled her shirt up like me so that they could do her tummy as well. It was so funny, I was laughing so hard. John didn't have to tutor so he came straight home after work. We had a credit from Pizza Hut so we decided to do that for dinner. We apparently didn't order it the right way so we ended up having to pay for it which did not make us happy.

Wednesday 18th - John went on a 6 mile run in the morning before work. I took Rachel to playgroup in the morning and we spent a couple hours there. After we got home it was lunch and nap time for both of us. Once we were up we headed to Michel's so I could pick up a few craft items. John had to tutor that night, and it took him a little while to get home. He was a little frustrated when he got home because one of his students had eaten her dinner in front of him while he was trying to tutor her.

Thursday 19th - John got to work really early at 6:30 so he could leave early to tutor. Rachel and I had a relaxing day at home. We met John that evening at his parents for dinner. Chelsi cooked us a nice dinner and it was fun to chat with everyone. That evening after we got home I took my primary manual to a lady in my ward who agreed to teach my primary class.

Friday 20th - John went into work early again. While he was at work I finished packing up suitcases and putting everything into the car. After John got home a little before 11, we put the last of the stuff into the car and headed out for St. George. We stopped in American Fork at Zupas for some lunch. Rachel slept for about an hour of the trip. We had a nice tail wind most of the way down so we got pretty good gas mileage. That night after we got to St. George I went to a craft class with my mom. It was a lot of fun to work on projects together.

Saturday 21st - Tiffani picked up John at 7:30 to drive to the starting line of the race. My mom and I spent a little time making posters for John. On our way to the finish line we stopped at a couple places to cheer John on as he ran by. John was pacing for the first time and he did a great job coming in a few seconds before his assigned time. After we got back to the house John showered (he smelled a little ;) ). We got Rachel down for a nap after lunch and my mom, John, and I played a game of Qwirkle. At the end of the game John and I left to go on a date. We started with going to Costco for some gas and rolls. While I was filling the car with gas John went inside for the rolls. While I was busy filling the car Ben climbed into the passenger seat of my car without my even knowing that he was at Costco. Once I realized that It was Ben in my car I was laughing pretty hard and so was John once he realized who it was. John said he thought he was walking back towards me, saw someone in the passenger seat, and started looking elsewhere. Then he realized it was Ben and was very confused. After we got gas we headed to the movies. We saw Into the Woods. It had really good music, but I am still undecided on if I liked the story. After the movie we decided to go to dinner at Olive Garden.  It was so much fun to go out to eat without Rachel.  My awesome family watched her for us while we went on our date.  Once we got back to the house John gave Rachel a bath and everyone went to bed.

Sunday 22nd - John and I went to an earlier ward with my dad while my mom watched Rachel for us.  As soon as we got back we packed up the car and left a couple minutes after my mom, Gibson, and Sierra left for church.  We headed out but had to stop in Cedar City for some lunch.  Rachel slept from just before Cedar until Fillmore which was not nearly long enough. We headed straight to the hospital when we got back to the Salt Lake Valley.  I hadn't felt baby boy move for over 24 hours so my doctor said I should go to labor and delivery.  They hooked my belly up to a heart rate monitor and they found the heartbeat pretty fast.  Just to make sure he was really okay they left me hooked up for a little over an hour.  They told me I need to drink lots of water and spend more time laying on my left side. When we left the hospital we headed to Tiffani's house for family dinner.  After dinner we played a fun game before heading home. Once Rachel was in bed we worked on unpacking and then went to bed early. It had been a long day.

February 9th - February 15th

Rachel is getting to the stage of life where she is trying to retain control, so she is throwing lots of tantrums. It is a little embarrassing, but we don't give into her even when it is really hard. When she wants to be she is really cute and copies the words we say.  She "talks" all the time. She loves saying by-by to everyone we pass and it makes her so sad when people don't answer, she tries saying it over and over so they will answer.

Monday 9th - Rachel and I went shopping in the morning. John was able to get off of work a little early, but had to tutor after he got home.

Tuesday 10th - Rachel and I had a super relaxed day and just hung out at home. John joined us in the evening, and we all hung out.

Wednesday 11th - In the morning Rachel and I went to playgroup.  It was so fun the kids all got to decorate sugar cookies.  Rachel ate all her frosting with a spoon but she had no interest in the cookies.  When we got home I fed Rachel lunch and put her down for her nap.  She was cranky and I was tired but Rachel just played in her room for over an hour.  John tutored after work and when he got home we decided to go to dinner.  We went to Training Table where Rachel had a lot of fun just looking around.

Thursday 12th - In the morning Rachel and I went to Walmart to pick up some food for the ward Valentine's party that John helped plan.  After we got home I worked on painting some crafts and then we both took a nap. John stopped by Discount Tire on his way home hoping to just get the tires rotated, but two were dangerously bald, and the other two were getting low, so instead he got 4 new tires. He decided to get 4 because they were having a nice sale, and he said we got the 4 for about the same price as we could have bought two.

Friday 13th - I needed some fabric so Rachel and I headed to Joann's in the morning. Rachel fell asleep on the way home and she decided that the 15 minutes in the car was enough for the whole day.  After John got home he helped me finish getting Rachel ready and he changed into dresser clothes.  We headed to the ward Valentines dinner.  John ended up having to do most of the work so he didn't get to sit by me much but I still had fun chatting with the others at my table. We ended up being there until 10:00 cleaning up because no one else outside of the Secretary stayed to help.

Saturday 14th - Happy Valentine's Day! John went for an 11 mile run in the morning.  For lunch we took Rachel over to my aunt and uncle's house where my cousin Katie watched her, and we went to Applebees since John had a gift card.  It was nice to go out to lunch with just John and not have a child crawling back and forth between us. After we picked Rachel up we went home.  Rachel and I took a nap while John played on his computer.  It was nice for all of us to relax.  We spent the rest of the evening hanging out together.

Sunday 15th - We all got to sleep in until 8:30 which was lots of fun.  It was a very relaxed morning getting ready for church.  Rachel had a lot of fun in Sacrament meeting playing with the people behind us.  She was also great in nursery they didn't have to bring her to me or John once. After we got home we let Rachel take a nap which was a mistake because when she got up she was cranky.  She did not want to eat dinner and just kept crying so we FaceTimed my family and Rachel got very happy and ate lots of dinner.  She got to bed a little late since she took a late nap but it worked out well.

February 2nd - February 8th

Rachel has been sick a lot the last little bit. It is a little concerning, but then she gets better. Hopefully she'll return to good strong, active, and energetic Rachel for the long run. When she feels alright she is so funny running around and take care of her babies.

Monday 2nd - In the morning I went to Target and Walmart to get some things. I was able to take a drink out to my mom as well. In the afternoon we just hung out.

Tuesday 3rd - I went to Kid-to-Kid to sell some of the stuff that we had realized we didn't need/weren't using. I wanted to get a double stroller, but all of the double strollers they had were far too big to fit in our car, so we took cash instead. I spent the rest of the day relaxing.

Wednesday 4th - For lunch I went and got Costa Vida for my dad, mom, and one of my mom's coworkers. My mom and I went to Walmart later in the evening to get some things. It was fun.

Thursday 5th - I took my mom a drink at lunch time. We hung out in the afternoon and evening.

Friday 6th - I went and got my hair done in the morning. After I got back, I put Rachel down for an early nap. She slept for almost three and a half hours! It was awesome. After she woke up, my mom, Gibson, and I took Rachel to Jumping Jack's. She had a blast jumping and going down slides. Gibson was so good about taking her up all the slides. My mom and I were originally going to go see a movie, but Rachel was not feeling well, so we put her to bed and watched Sleepless in Seattle on Netflix.

Saturday 7th - My mom and I spent the morning hanging out together stopping at a yard sale and a few stores.  We took Rachel back to the house so she could eat some lunch.  Sierra stayed at the house with Rachel and my mom and I went to Wood Creations. They had some awesome crafts. Instead of going to a movie, we are going to take a class their when we go down for Dogtown. After that, we went back and I got everything ready for our trip. We waited until my dad got home so we could say goodbye, and then we headed out. Rachel slept all the way to Scipio. We then met with some friends we met in Logan who now live in Santaquin. After that, we drove to Provo to get some dinner. All was going well, until just before we pulled out of the drive-thru, when Rachel threw up all over everything. It was not pleasant. I got her cleaned up the best I could, and we finished our trip home. It was great to see John, but unfortunately the homecoming was a bit spoiled because we had to clean up the car seat and car. We got everything cleaned up and Rachel to bed.

Sunday 8th - Rachel had a great night. She was happy for a bit after she woke up. She didn't eat much of her breakfast though and that's when we realized that she was not feeling well. She had a bit of a fever, so we decided we shouldn't take her to nursery. I had to teach my class, so after Sacrament, John took her home. She had a great nap, but then had a difficult night after that not wanting to eat anything. John and I enjoyed a nice dinner, and relaxed.
